from Comp USA Summary: I was looking for a program that would manage my many image files, easlily convert image formats, and resize images for easier e-mailing.
I found Ixla and it was only 10 bucks, so I thought why not give it a try. I really didn''t expect much from it, but I think it does a great job. I can view
thumb nail images, view larger versions, or have a slide show of all images in a directory. I have been able to select 10 or more images and do
a batch convert or a batch size reduction. It makes e-mailing images easy and quick. I even made a quickie web page for my christmas images.
It took me less than an hour to create and upload to my web server. Ixla is simple to use, plus it was cheap. It does tend to crash a lot. I found that
if I create lots of directories and keep less than30 images in each directory, the program doesn''t crash as much. I also need to close other applicatations
to keep Ixla up and doing the things I need it to do Strengths: Ixla is simple to use. You can select several images at once to convert their formats or change their size. Weaknesses: It crashes quite frequently. Can''t run other programs and expect Ixla to do the things I want.
The web creater is simple, but because of it''s automatic naming of files, I can only make one web page
at a time. There may be a way around this, but I haven''t had time to figure it out. But, for only 10 bucks
I can deal with it''s limitations.
