Summary:
ScanSoft PowerShow, formerly KAI PowerShow, is one of those unique applications that verges on being great. For creating slide shows with cool transitions PowerShow is at the top of its class. PowerShow unfortunatley has a lot of things it could do better. To start out the user interface is very KAI'ish. It has that strange organic look and feel that either turns you off or just makes you wonder what the software developer was thinking. Once you get past the UI importing, arranging, and creating you slide show is pretty straightforward. Again the results look good but things could be done a little better. Slides shows are limited in resolution and music often times does not stay in sync with the slide depending on the speed of the computer. A viewer is also required for anyone you may want to send your show to, which can be a turn off for many users. If ScanSoft would just update this applications UI and add an export to MOV or AVI this would be a great program. Strengths:
