Review 1 of 18

Price Paid:  $30.00 from CompUSA

Summary:

The special effects screens on this product do not work correctly. Apparently, after visiting the company web site, it is an ongoing and ignored problem, with no patches available. It seems there may be similar problems in more up-to-date versions as well. Roxio's customer support page is VERY non-user friendly. It provides primarily discussion boards where people may vent their anger at the product, although solutions are rarely offered. I would probably not buy another Roxio product after this experience.

Strengths:

It is easy to access saved photographs. However, there is a problem with the program automatically saving changes over the original file. As soon as you open a file in this program, be sure to immediately save it under another name before working on it. Otherwise your original image may turn up severely altered. I am using Windows XP with this program.

Weaknesses:

Many

Similar Products Used:

Various photo editing programs.

Customer Service:

EXTREMELY POOR.

Review 2 of 18

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I've used three versions of Photo Suite, currently using version four. Unlike Photo Shop, its very user-friendly, and I've been able to acquire it at very low prices.

Strengths:

It has a very short learning curve, yet the power of it is amazing. I've used it to do a pictorial book. Editing photos is a snap. All sorts of tools included.

Weaknesses:

Occasionally, with heavy use, it'll act up. I just reinstall it. Customer support is, of course, not good. One time, they actually said, "couldn't happen..." Mostly, I keep using it because it suits my needs although I am looking for something better.

Similar Products Used:

MS Publisher, Print shop, Microsoft photo editing software (can't remember the name). I've used and read about Photo Shop. No way. Way too complicated.

Customer Service:

It depends on who you get on the phone. Mediocre, usually. They need to hire people persons.

Review 3 of 18

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

This program has it's weaknesses, but also many strengths. Somewhat userfriendly, many of my friends who are not extremely computer (or photo) savvy have been able to use it just fine. The editing tools are OK, nothing extravagant but has all the beginner would want. I have not had any problems running it at all. I now primarily use it for printing out my pictures, as the templates for photopackages are very good and easy to use. The cropping tool in this program is also better than most others in it's class. I wouldn't recommend it as the ONLY photoediting software, but as a supplemental one it's great!

Strengths:

Good templates for printing User friendly

Weaknesses:

Not enough "control" over editing Can be confusing in the beginning 'til you learn where everything's at

Review 4 of 18

Price Paid:  $157.00 from Walmart

Summary:

This softwear is awful. After installing, uninstallig, and installing again, I got no where. Just kept locking up my brand new Gateway computer. Could not get photos from my Vivitar, Vivicam 3715, and just was worthless. Came with camera.

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Need to be a genius to run this softwear.
