With protection against the elements, the Fujifilm FinePix S1 is the first superzoom camera you can confidently take out without worrying about dust, rain or snow. The 50x optical zoom lens lets you shoot wide landscapes or zoom in on the tiniest, distant details. Fujifilm’s new 5-axial IS image stabilization helps minimize camera shake so your photos stay sharp, whether your zoomed out to 1200mm, or using the Super Macro Mode to shoot really close. The tilt-swivel LCD display is great for shooting difficult angles, working on a tripod, and making self-portraits.

Although the S1 has easy-to-use auto modes, photographers who want to take control will appreciate the PASM manual shooting modes. The FinePix S1 also allows you to shoot RAW for maximum quality and post-processing versatility. It can capture action as fast as 10 frames per second and it records full HD video and even has built-in time lapse controls.

Photos don’t count anymore unless we can share them immediately. So Fujifilm gave the S1 built-in Wi-Fi with a dedicated button that makes it quick and easy to share photos and videos. After you install the free app on your Smart Phone or tablet you can wirelessly transfer photos and videos to your mobile device and then upload them straight to Facebook, Instagram or any other social network you like.

Fujifilm will be showing off the FinePix S1 for the first time at the annual CES tradeshow in Las Vegas, this week. It should be available in March (2014) for US $499.95.
