The Sony RX1 Full-Frame Compact Camera With A Leica M-Monochrom – pardon the quality of this image. I took it with my point-and-shoot. I should have taken it with a Sony RX1 :-D

The $2800. price tag puts me off. I have the Sony Alpha 900 and I consider it the Rodney Dangerfield of DSLRs. And I have a basket of lenses for it. I often times consider it magical. I am a Sony/ Minolta fan.

Yeah, Bob. The $2800 price tag puts me off, too. There’s no way I can justify buying one. But the sensor and lens are pretty incredible and from what I’ve heard, the preorder sales have been very impressive.

It is def not cheap….but if I compare this to the price of a Leica M? Almost a bargain…almost.

    • Photo-John says:

Exactly, Toronto! A Leica M with a comparable 35mm lens will cost you about $10,000. That definitely makes the RX1 look like a good deal.
