    Summary:
I have heard of several different feelings about this lens. I find it as about as good as it gets. I have taken it everywhere with me it is one of staple lenses. I have many enlargements the largest being 12x18 using Fuji 400 press film and it is perfect perfect.

    Strengths:
small light-weight focus is fast very sharp.

    Weaknesses:
    None that affect me

    Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Georges in San Diego

    Summary:
I bought this lens for a song because they did not have a fixed price on it and were changing their store around, and just did not really care about it - strange. But what was I worried about - I jumped at the opportunity to own one. I have taking it all the way to Tahiti and back on an old FA. The pictures that came out of this piece of optical magnificence are just the best. I was amazed and impressed. I use it now for the image quality and wide angle more than my 20mm AFD, which I also think is a wonderful lens.

    Strengths:
Heavy lens with superior optical qualities

    Weaknesses:
Not AF, but if it was I probably would not be able to afford it.

    Similar Products Used:
24mm 2.8 non ai (an equally wonderful lens)

    Customer Service:
    none needed

    Review 4 of 7

    Price Paid:  $0.00

    Summary:
As far as I know, it should be the most compact 24mm F2 lens among all other brands similar lenses. It gives wider perspective and also produce the same or may be even better image quality than ais 28/2.

    Strengths:
Small, compact size, well built lens constriction. F 2 aperature give bright viewfinder observation. Very good sharpness, good control of vignetting, but distortion found nearby edges and flare control is average only.

    Weaknesses:
Distortion found nearby edges and flare control is average only. But it only cost HK$3500, has over 10 years design and use 52mm filter.

    Similar Products Used:
    Pentax FA 24mm F2, R 24mm F2.8, Ais 28mm F2.

    Customer Service:
    Nil

    Review 5 of 7

    Price Paid:  $399.00 from Adorama

    Summary:
A poor performing lens, that generally has a poor reputation, despite of the rave reviews posted here.

    Strengths:
Sharp at f/5.6 to f/8 Well built and easy to focus

    Weaknesses:
Very soft at f/2, fairly soft at f/4

    Similar Products Used:
    Nikon AIS 28mm f/2.8 Nikon AIS 28mm f/2 Leica Summilux 35/1.4 Asph Nikon AF-S 17-35/2.8D and 20-35/2.8D

    Customer Service:
Adorama is terrible for overseas orders and sent me items I didn't order (lens hood and filter) + they charged me of course
