Strength:
The ultimate in flexibility. I usually pack several lenses and a full size body with power winder, flash, digital and point and shoot. While shooting, I shift the compartment leave the body and lens attached. Well organized exterior pockets allow adding other items as filters, ball heads and film. Strap is strong but needs the postal cushion option. I bought the hand strap as well for quick carries and drape over for pull luggage. On trips the amorphous shape makes plane trips great for underseat or overhead storage. Outside pockets make access to high speed film easy at airport security. This bag is comfortable to carry and a true living classic for a toss it in and go photographer. Why did I wait so long?
Weakness:
Front military clips are slower to open the more modern plastic style clasps. I found myself keeping them unlocked while on a shoot out West. Defeats the purpose of a secure bag while shooting street scenes. The original strap needs the optional cushion for heavy hauling. Bought a 1977 F2 dark brown original with the metal feet on ebay and replaced the cloth dividers with new style 1, 3, and 4 compartments. Bag was well worn and dirty but has stood the test of time. Some minor clean up (washing machine)and the bag was good as new. End pockets were tunrned up and a bit tattered and the back flap needed the metal fastener rerivited but what can you expect. Bought several add on components as the Post Office cushion and hand straps. Customer Service Never used. Web site was helpful in identifying options though. B&H and Adorama carry all the accessories. Similar Products Used: Lowepro and many other now newly obsolete carry bags. |

Strength:
Very well made and one of the few photography items still made in USA. Should last just about forever. Handles two bodies, a few lenses, filters, flash, misc stuff and about a dozen rolls of film. Well designed four-compartment divider for the center even fits f2.8 pro zooms (barely). 9" height just fits 80-200 f2.8 and 300 f4 lenses.
Weakness:
Not for the ultra-organized photographer, better for the "toss it in and go" style. Great bag, the rumors are true. Able to carry way too much stuff yet doesn't scream "camera bag" and very easy to work out of. Customer Service Don't think I'll ever need it. Similar Products Used: Several Lowe Pro and a Tamrac. |

Strength:
Shoulder strap wraps completely around the bag. Hand strap included. Looks better as it ages.
Weakness:
Padded option for shoulder strap should have been included for the price. Holds securely EOS1 with PB-E1, 70-200 f/2.8, 50 f/1.4, 20-35 f/2.8, 9 filters, flash unit, tons of film, manuals, 1.4x extender, etc, while car is being hit at 35mph by an illegal left turn driver-equipment safe. No damage except for my car. Customer Service None |

Simplicity
Weakness:
Could use better coverage for end pockets This is a great bag for my 35mm SLR system, and there's plenty of room for it to grow. I especially like the ability to get at my equipment very easily. The padding is minimal, but adequate. I also got the backpack strap accessory, Domke Gripper utility strap, and an additional single-compartment standard insert. These accessories really increase the versatility of this bag. I highly recommend the F-2! Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Lowe Pro Nova 4 |

Doesn't stand up to hard use.Poor workmanship Domke Sucks ...Look elsewhere for a bag or a vest . Customer Service Lousy !!!! Sent bag back to them after it fell apart when it was 4 months old . They sent it back saying that I use it too hard. Funny I thought it was for professionals !! And I actually am not hard on the bag at all. My cameras are another story. But the bag is almost pampered Similar Products Used: none |

Doesn't look like a camera bag. Ability to remove bottom padding so can be used as a normal daytime bag. Made to withstand torture and abuse.
Weakness:
Looks a bit too big for me. But hey, it fits all my eqpt and that's what good about it. Get a smaller bag and I'll be lost without some of my eqpt. Excellent bag. Might be the only bag one will ever need and I really mean the only one. Brought it for camping, threw it around and drowned it in the storm and still keeps my clothes dry, what more can one ask from a bag.... Customer Service No need for it. Holds lot's of gear with good protection and minimal bulk. Comfortable and easy to work out of.
Weakness:
Metal feet on old version can scratch painted surfaces. Not an issue with the current model. As a recovering camera bag junkie, I've slung more than a few bags over my shoulder over the years, but my 20 year old F2 is the one that's still being regularly used. It lacks a few details of the current F2, but is still a great bag. Originally got it to haul a couple Canon F-1's, an A-1 - all with motor drives, a bunch of lenses up to 300mm and a Vivitar 283 or 285 flash, plus lot's of other stuff. Similar Products Used: Domke F3X, various LowePros, Tenbas, Tamracs and a host of others long forgotten. |
