Strength:

Doesn't look like a camera bag. Ability to remove bottom padding so can be used as a normal daytime bag. Made to withstand torture and abuse.

Weakness:

Looks a bit too big for me. But hey, it fits all my eqpt and that's what good about it. Get a smaller bag and I'll be lost without some of my eqpt.

Excellent bag. Might be the only bag one will ever need and I really mean the only one. Brought it for camping, threw it around and drowned it in the storm and still keeps my clothes dry, what more can one ask from a bag....

Customer Service

No need for it.

Model Reviewed: F-2

Strength:

Holds lot's of gear with good protection and minimal bulk. Comfortable and easy to work out of.

Weakness:

Metal feet on old version can scratch painted surfaces. Not an issue with the current model.

As a recovering camera bag junkie, I've slung more than a few bags over my shoulder over the years, but my 20 year old F2 is the one that's still being regularly used. It lacks a few details of the current F2, but is still a great bag. Originally got it to haul a couple Canon F-1's, an A-1 - all with motor drives, a bunch of lenses up to 300mm and a Vivitar 283 or 285 flash, plus lot's of other stuff.

Now that I'm older and lazier, I've been using a Domke F3X to tote an Elan IIe, a couple lenses and 380X flash (or the manual focus gear when I'm in a
"retro" mood). The F3X offers that same functionality as the F2 in a smaller package.

IMHO - the Domke's are good, non-flashy (if you're looking for a little flash, leather and leather trimmed versions are also available), functional bags that are hard to beat. Other bags may offer more "features", but I like the Domke's simplicity. Their camera straps are great too!

Strength:

It isn't flashy so few people will know you're carrying precious little things in it. The bag is meant to last. Lots of things can be loaded. Very practical when you need to grab stuff quickly because you do not have all those little foam pads dividers to snake around in order to reach what you need

Weakness:

Canva is rain proof buy a flap a la Lowepro would be nice. It seemed a bit expensive when i bought it.

Get one and use it. You'll love the retro look.

Strength:

Great durability, large amounts of space, unlimted config ability.

Weakness:

could use some more padding on the ends.
A bit expensive.

I still will not use anything other than Domke, and having 10 years with this bag, is the proof of its quality seeing that I am extremely hard on my equipment, it still looks as good as it did when I bought it.

Great bag for everyday use. If you like the feel of a soft bag this is the best. Easily holds a F5 and three zooms, flash etc. Great carry strap with no slip design. It is not for everyone but If you like bluejeans and sneakers this is your kind of bag

Strength:

-Soft amorphous shape
-Lots of easily accessible compartments
-Customizable inserts
-Great strap with sticky rubber anti-slip strips
-Water resistant canvas
-Metal clasps
-Inspires affection (that's a strength in my book)

Weakness:

-Could use a little more padding but this is the only complaint.
-Oh, and it costs too much in Japan.

Awesome bag period! Classic understated styling that doesn't scream camera bag. Works great as a regular day bag too. If you need a smaller bag get the F-6, if you need bigger get the F-1x. I carry mine on my left side with film up front in the right side compartment and usually with the the right front clasp unhooked so I can reach under the flap and quickly grab my camera and lens. Domke bags work so well becuase they have a sound fundamental philosophy behind their design.

Customer Service

Haven't even come close to needing it and don't think I ever will.

I have used the Domke F-2 from the very first day that it was introduced. As the years passed I have purchased several more F-2 bags, because of additional equipment needs or just replacing a well-worn friend and like most shooters I too have tried several other brands resulting in either selling the bag or giving it away and going back to using Domke. In all the Domke F-2 has been and continues to be my shooting bag. It is by my side when on an assignment, always ready to go to work.
