Strength:
9fs predictive AF, better placement of motor drive controls than 1-n, PB-E2 power booster has AF point control capability in vertical orientation as well as horizontal, NiMH battery pack is awesome.
Weakness:
Causes dust to collect on my other bodies. Mirror lock up does take a couple of steps to initiate, but then subjects you need it for are not usually in a rush to leave. The 1-V is easily the best 35m AF camera you can purchase. Second place is behind that huge cloud of dust on the distant horizon. Customer Service CPS is awesome and extremely quick in their repairs (on occasion I've had an issue with gravity, resulting in shock testing of equipment) Similar Products Used: Canon 1-N, A2, EOS-3, Nikon N90s, F4s, F5 |

Strength:
Solid, nice ergonomic, the non-slippable rubber is the best one among other SLRs. eye piece shutter is A Plus.! diopter correction over EOS3(this is y i choose 1V)
Weakness:
After choosing one of the focusing points with quick control dial, I tend to change the exposure compensation with it by accident. Only the optional software offers the option of having the quick control dial disabled for exposure compensation. Weird! This is a true pro-cam. Quite heavier than F5 with PBE2, also more expensive than F5 with PBE2, but better than F5. YOu have an option to take off the grip, then you have a lighter version of EOS1V!!!! yay!1 This is Plus over F5. IS lenses are amazing too. Customer Service haven't tried one yet Similar Products Used: Minolta maxxum 800si, Nikon N90s, F5 |

Strength:
Ultra fast AF, feels lighter than the F5 when the Booster is attached, a good evolution from the EOS-1n. vertical controls much improved, and the camera feels more solid than the 1n. IS lenses is a plus for choosing Canon.
Weakness:
45 points not that useful all the time, the view not improved. No direct AF point control on the back like the EOS-7 or 30. I would say if you have a EOS-1n, you shouldn't be in a great hurry to upgrade to the 1V. They are pretty much the same and the 1v is slightly improved. The new CMOS focusing module is fast for the most part but the 45 focusing points aren't sensitive enough sometimes. Not sure about the 10FPS for general use. Overall feels slightly faster than the 1n but difference not so great, still a great camera overall Customer Service Never tried Similar Products Used: F5, F100, EOS-1n, EOS-3, EOS-5 |

Strength:
Box is light tight, solid. Meter is accurate and consistent. Focussing is fast, fast, fast and letting the camera choose amoungst 45 points works for me over 90% of time.
Weakness:
Little caps for the sync cords get lost. The bottom plate scratches easily, and wimpy shooters need not apply. Bottom line baby - this is the best 35mm camera in the market bar none. If your livelihood depends on getting the shot all the time, then don't waste time with any other tool. If you like to show off, then this camera with the PB-E2 is more expensive, heavier, bigger, faster, stronger and prettier than any other out there. The jokers who gave this camera a one must have thought the scale was reversed. Customer Service CPS - fantastic as usual. Similar Products Used: If you've tried the best, forget about the rest. |

Lightning fast autofocus, metering is wonderful. The unit just feels great in my hands, solid. I found the 100% viewfinder to be very bright.
Weakness:
Price, but then again you get what you pay for. I love this camera, wow!! I held off on getting one due to the price, but I am so glad I got it. First 2 rolls of Ilford Delta 400 through this camera look superb. If you have ever handled an EOS camera, you'll know how to operate this right out of the box. Can't praise it enough! Strength:
autofocus fast and excellent. 45 points work well. Handling perfect.
Weakness:
Focusing screening unexpectedly a bit dim even using 28-70 f2.8L zoom lens. The EOS-1V is a superb camera with a stronger fell of professionalism, yet it is easy to use. Anyone who owns a EOS camera will know how to use within seconds. The shooting data software (purchased separately) that can be loaded to the computer is an advantage to those futher understand the composition. Overall, this camera worths the money. It will be perfect if the viewfinder can be brighter. Customer Service alright. Similar Products Used: New F.1, EOS-1, EOS RTContax G2 |

ERGONOMICS, CONSTRUCTION AND RELIABILITY
Weakness:
TO GET THE MOST FROM THE CAMERA YOU HAVE TO USE THE E2 NICAD PACK A VERY HEAVY CAMERA THAT FEELS SOLID AND MEANT TO BE USED AND CAN TAKE A FEW KNOCKS. THE CONTROLS FEEL A LITTLE MORE BEEFY THAN THE IN AS WELL AS THE FILM DOOR WHICH SEEMS TO NEED MORE EFFORT TO CLOSE. I HAVE USED EOS 1S SINCE THEY WERE INTRODUCED AND THEY HAVE PROVEN THIER WORTH BY THIER CONSISTANT PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILTY. I HAVE EVERY REASON THE 1V WILL CARRY ON THE TRADITION. Strength:
Great auto focus • heavy duty body • Fast-Fast-Fast • programable features
Weakness:
The weight is a bit heavy but it is hardly a reason to not buy this camera! The bottom line is that this is the best camera I have ever used. It has the feel of a camera that could last a lifetime. I almost think it can acutally help you be a better photographer in some situations. Customer Service Have never had to use customer service Similar Products Used: EOS 1, EOS 630, Elan IIE QD |

Strength:
Incredibly fast, solid, great ergonomics.
Weakness:
Overly complicated Having shot the F5 for many years I made the switch. This camera can out perform the F5 BUT it requires more work to do so. I did not care for the DOF feature which is far superior on the F5 (IMO). The camera itself is a wiz but the owners manual will be your trusted companion as you navigate your way through the maze of features. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: Nikon F5 |

1. Ultra Fast AF on my 28-135 IS even in dim area.
Weakness:
1. body + booster = ultra heavy , those who don't need a high fps, i highly recommend u don't get the PB-E2! this combination heavy like a rock ! , you may try to get PB-E1 if u need a vertical grip. as i mentioned before .
