Strength:
Price is exceptional for the functionality
Weakness:
Shutter speed could be quicker, but at this price, I ain't complainin What can I say. I belong to a photography guild, and one of the guys there is a photographer for a national broardsheet newspaper. He uses a N1 with all the kit. He loves my camera. It does almost everything his will, but at a fraction of the cost. Customer Service None as yet Similar Products Used: Too many to remember |

None This camera is actually by far the best camera I'Ve tried. It seems like the more photos I take, the better they turn out. However, when I first bought it, my photos were faintly blurry, which is one thing that improved as I continued using it. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Light, cheap, 7 focus points, 36 metering zone you can trust, DOF preview,
Weakness:
Not for ones with plasticophobya. Eyecup falls of easily. 7-focus point selection works only in 90% of cases. Al servo I had to choose between EOS 50, Nikon N60 and this one. I made my choice and I don’t regret. This is great camera for the money you’ll pay for it. I got 28-80 II kit for 309$. You need at least 4 times more for professional one. BP-200 is a must (~30$). 36 zoom works perfectly, never gave me up. This is very light camera that lets you to work long and shoot from easily from inconvenient positions. I never use mirror lockup, so I don’t miss it. Spot metering would be good but partial metering in enough for me. Any way I use full manual mode mostly. Much better than Nikon N60. My advise – buy this camera but forget about 28-80 zoom kit, buy body and 50mm f/1.8 II lens (~ 80$) it is cheap but good lens. Customer Service No problems yet Similar Products Used: EOS 50e |

Strength:
This camera has quick accurate autofocusing. The photos are very crisp and clear. It is very simple to change between the auto and manual focuses. The price is unbeatable for what you get.
Weakness:
The built in flash could use some improving. The Rebel 2000 case, an optional accessory, doesn't fit well and is awkward to use. Four weeks ago, after looking through reviews on this site, I decided the Rebel 2000 QD was the camera for me. I didn't want to give up the date imprinting of my point and shoot, but wanted better picture quality. I have never had an SLR camera but have used my dad's Pentax. Dad's SLR had produced my favorite pictures I'd ever taken. After trying over and over to find a point and shoot I was happy with, I decided I'd put out the extra money for the Rebel 2000 QD. I really shopped around and discovered the EOS 300 QD kit (complete with a 28-80mm zoom lens, strap, batteries, and eyecap) at focuscamera.com. It was only $299.99 I was leery at first of not having the "Rebel 2000 QD". I called Canon directly, though, and they verified that the Rebel 2000 and the EOS 300 were the exact same camera - the EOS 300 was simply named and labeled for sale in Europe. I bought it and have sent five rolls of film through it (200, 400, and 800 speed). I couldn't be more pleased with the outdoor shots. They are very crisp and the lighting is perfect. As the other reviews stated, however, the built in flash isn't the greatest. The indoor and evening shots I took are a little dark but still very well focused. For the money, though, you can't beat it! If I did it over again, though, I wouldn't buy the case made for the Rebel 2000. I don't care for its design. Removing it frequently removes the eyecup, which I'm afraid will get lost one of these days. The case doesn't fit as well as I'd like and is a little awkward to use. All around, though, it's an excellent deal! Similar Products Used: Old Pentax Manual Focus SLR |

Strength:
Very flexible in use. My family can use it and they don't have much knowledge of cameras, and I can use it for my photo classes at school.
Weakness:
It is not as durable as a Nikon or Pentax because it doesn't have a metal frame, so I would be nervous to travel a lot with it. I think that the camera would be great for a family, and a new student of photography because of the options it provides with auto and manual focus, f/stops, and more. Similar Products Used: I own a Pentax also, but it is not as up to date as the Rebel. |

Strength:
- nice features (DOF, quasi-spot metering, 7-points AF)
Weakness:
- hunting AF at low light I agree it may be found nice and worthy for amateurs. Personally, I did not like it. Difficult to hold and operate with my hands of typical adult man (not 10 years old boy). What's the advantage of 7 AF points when it's so difficult to choose one of them? And why there is no warning that time chosen by program is too long to shoot from hand? I'd better go for Pentax in the same price range. Customer Service Warranty: Lens replaced because of lack of sharpness Similar Products Used: Manual russian SLR (Zenit) for many years |

Light-weight & compact
Weakness:
Light-weight & compact I purchased this camera for my wife who is an interior designer. She uses it mainly to photograph completed client projects and ideas at market. Bottom line - she needed a camera that was easy to carry around and quick to use. She is not "into" photography. The camera does a fine job of documenting her work. We avoided the package deals and purchased the EF 28-105 f/3.4-4.5 USM. This range covers most of her needs. She has small hands and this camera was a perfect fit. The IX Lite (APS) was too small and did not balance well. The Nikon appeared a little less robust; we were not impressed with its overall feel. I am dissapointed, but not surprised, in the capabilities of the built-in flash. Fortunately, we purchased the 380EX flash which is relatively compact and does an outstanding job of lighting the subject. I definitely recommend one of the external EX flashes with this camera for anything but amusement park snapshots. As for me, I like the camera, but it is way too small for me, even with the BP-200 battery pack we purchased. I am "into" photography and prefer more balance and heft in a camera. I will be upgrading from a Yashica MP108 manual focus to either an EOS 3 or EOS 1V this summer. But for general photography at a low price, I believe the Rebel 2000 is probably the best value on the market. Strength:
Good light metering capabilities. Nice features aloowing the photographer to maintain his creativity and effects with out the camera overriding the effects set by the user.
Weakness:
Small body, camera should have come standard with the Canon BP-11 to allow more sizeability to the cameras dimentions. Great camera, nice features, good sturdy body. Capabilities within the light metering and the user settings make it a user friendly camera with the capabilities to take photography to the next level. Being an experienced photographer who has worked with other Canon products, I don't feel that the Rebel 2000 holds me back in any way with my options. Great camera overall. Ignore the customer service and you're fine. Customer Service Is there really anyhting positive you can say about this? First, you have to wait what sems like an eternity just to talk with the CS rep, then if they can't answer your question you are transferred to another operator who takes their time answering the phone. The CS is not worth it. The warranty is limited. Take insurance out on the camera rather than an extended warranty. Similar Products Used: Nikon N90, Canon Rebel S. |
