Model Reviewed: EOS Rebel 2000 QD Body

Strength:

It is light to carry. In green mode, it is a P&S and works very well under tricky lights. In creative modes, you will have full control.

Weakness:

Taking it as an entry level camera, I have no conplain.

It is one of beginners' best choice. When you take family pic, you can turn on QD. And when you do creative photograghy, you can turn it off.

Customer Service

Canon US web is a very good. They answer your question promtly.

Model Reviewed: EOS Rebel 2000 QD Body

Strength:

Has an almost perfect balance of features for the price. I use autobracketing all the time, in aperture-priority mode. It's my "carry around" camera I keep with me whenever I'm out, and the light weight makes it possible.

Weakness:

The camera is small, and doesn't fit a mans hand well, but the BP200 helps. The manual controls are a little tricky to use, which slightly disuades me from recommending this as a beginners camera. The QD back is almost useless to me; I never use it.

Great second camera to supplement your main body. Great camera if you want an upscale point-and-shoot camera, but is missing a few features to be a good beginning SLR camera (try an ElanIIe instead to get that handy thumbwheel and mirror pre-fire). Still, for the features it has, the R2k is the best bang for the buck in consumer equipment.

Customer Service

None needed. Very little wear of the polycarbonate lens mount.

Strength:

Light, well-handling, accurate exposure system, quick autofocusing.

Weakness:

None. Would like to be able to switch metering mode independently of shooting mode.

I use it mostly as a backup for my Elan IIe. For the price, an excellent camera. With my EF prime lenses and 24-85 zoom, I have taken some beautiful slides on Elite.

Customer Service

None needed so far.

Strength:

Very capable for the price. 35-zone metering is very accurate. Light and small as a P&S (especially with 50/1.8 II). Good for a beginner in the Canon world.

Weakness:

Viewfinder is quite dark for DOF preview. AF-poins selection is inconvenient.

The very best camera in its class today. Probably because competitors have not released their products yet.

Strength:

Lightweight, easy to use control dial,
cheap, built-in flash.......

Weakness:

I would say no real problems, but there is a time-lag at the time when you press the shutter release and take a picture.

Overall a good, mid-end SLR camera with Canon's 28-80mm USM len, good handling but not very solid plastic body.

NO. But I think Minotla Dynax 505 and Nikon F90 are at the same class.
This Canon gets the best specs. out of it

Strength:

I love the quality of pictures this camera takes: sharp, clear ones. Also, I like being able to change out lenses. This is the first really expensive camera I have had--it is lightweight, easy to use, and easy for me to turn it over to someone else to take pictures.

Weakness:

No problems at all with the camera. I love it!

I recommend this camera to everyone I know. If you are looking for good advertisement for this camera, Canon gets it from me!

Customer Service

The rep at the store I bought it from was very helpful and knowledgeable about the camera.

This camera has everything you could possibly want in a camera. It takes fabulous pictures and the red eye reduction on this camera actually works!! Love it!!

Weakness:

Haven't had any real problems other than not knowing you should use a tripod while using the nighttime feature.

I love this camera. A little large for carrying around on a vacation but still do not disappointed in it.

Strength:

VERY VERY LIGHT. It's great because it can be fully automatic, or almost fully manual depending on what you feel like. Autofocus works very well and very, very fast - except in low light conditions. The light weight has allowed me to pack it around and get some shots that I wouldn't have been able to get with a heavier camera. The built in flash is alright for "friend and family" type shooting events, but its a little skimpy for anything else - get an EX speedlight.

Weakness:

The body is quite small, so someone with large hands may have a hard time handling it - but I'm not complaining.

Lightweight, but performs like a heavyweight.

Get it, you wont regret it ;-)
(or at least I havent!)
