Too many reason to list here, but basically the control layout the stainless steel construction, excellent metering and extremely bright 100% viewfinder.
Weakness:
I wish that it showed exposure modes and metering modes in the viewfinder. It's somewhat heavy but what did you expect? Minolta has finally made a camera that is the true successor to the original 9000. AF is fast (to me) even without USM/AF-S and most importantly, all of the controls are placed naturally without the wonder-button interfaces so often seen on other cameras in this class. Technologically, there isn't much revolutionary here. Minolta mostly just took what they had already perfected (like the light metering system) and put it together in an armored package. That isn't to say that there is no new technology here, but it's more about evolutionary improvements in functionality and technology than totally new features (like moving from centerweighted flash metering to 4 segment meetering with preflash). All in all, it's a great camera that becomes second nature to use after a few days. Customer Service Very helpful. Strength:
I like the rugged metal body (plastic cracks in case you drop it...) and the user friendly buttons. You can change any functions quickly with no hassle even if it is dark.
Weakness:
I have not had any problems yet. The Maxxum 9 has completely filled my expectations. It has so many features that I can customize, like storing data, mid re-load etc. I love the viewfinder, you get exactly what you see in the frame. The shutterspeed is thrilling, it allows me to use fast film anytime I like. I can also use IR film with no problem, which is not possible for some other new camera models. Customer Service Excellent customer service. Similar Products Used: Canon Eos 1N |
