Strength:
Great metering. Decent AF speed. Works with VR lenses and AFS lenses.
Weakness:
Cant use manual lenses. Will Nikon exchange my six manual lenses for AF lens? AF is slower than N90s. AF is noisy. Plasticky construction just like Canon Rebel 2000 etc. It looks like Nikon is slowly ditching us manual focus users. Will this camera last as long as my FM2N? No way. Will the plastic AF lenses last as long as my 20 year old MF Nikkors? I dont think so. Maybe the next Nikon pro body won't work with MF lenses too. I hope there is still some lifeline for us MF users. I decided against buying this camera. Customer Service Not needed. Strength:
Lots of features
Weakness:
Controls seem flimsy Had this camera for an hour and turned it in for a N90s, which I love. I think Nikon could have done a better job with the ruggedness and feel of this camera. I think it feels and looks cheap. Buy the N90s, you won't be sorry! Similar Products Used: N70 |

Strength:
Lightweight
Weakness:
May be small in some hands This is a great camera. I purchased it myslef (quite a feat considering I work sparingly) after literally months of research. I either wanted a Canon or a Nikon. Finally it came down to the A2 which is slowly being brought off the production line, or the very hard to find N80. The N80 fit me well for many reasons: 1) it is GREAT for traveling, very light and durable. Don't let the plastic scare you, the construction is very solid. I have relatvily large hands, and while being rather small, the feel of the N80 is good. The metering is dead on, especially when the matrix meter and the center-weighted meter are used together. Nikon is a great brand, and this is the perfect camera to get into the line. If you don't need one imiediatly, they can be ordered from Wolf camera online or even better, check out some of your local corner stores. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: Canon A1 |

Strength:
feel, quick autofocus, spot metering, matrix metering, multiple exposures, lcd lights up, uses regular shuter release cable, display in viewfinder is good
Weakness:
would like more metal and could shoot a little faster (3-4 fps), Overall this is a great camera for the amount of money. im young so i had to work all summer to buy this and it was defintly worth it. the metering and autofocus system is flawless(so far), even though its plastic, it seems fairly durable for the outdoors, although metal would be nice, but i gotta pay more $$ for metal, this camera has so many little cool features, theres too many to explain totaly, so check one out. i gotta say, this camera gives a whole lot for how much u spend Customer Service none yet Similar Products Used: elan IIe, a2e, |

Strength:
Small, lightweight, good matrix metering comparable with the F100.
Weakness:
Fiddly knobs, my focus selector broke and I had the camera replaced within 2 weeks. There is a serious bug in focusing. Using the 28-105 zoom it refuses to focus properly at the long end. There is a serious problem with aperture/exposure. Nikons quality control seems non existant with this camera. I exchanged this camera twice, and returned my third camera for a refund. I could not rely on AF mechanism, and I cannot rely on a camera which breaks in 2 weeks. Nikon has goofed up big time with this one. If this is the way Nikon is headed in future, I am going back to my old manual cameras. Customer Service Average. Similar Products Used: Nikon F70, F90x, F100. |

Strength:
compact and light weight, although not made from metal, it don't feel it will be broken easily, the 's' version, control is easy, lots of features that allow me to grow in photography
Weakness:
some knobs, eg, the dynamic af, the selection of imprint data etc are hard to turn, the imprint data is too small it is the best slr in this price range, it cost 4650 hk dollars, about 600 us , together with the mb16. the battery pack is a must if you has resonable hand size. i've the same q that is the one i has made in thailand? Strength:
Gridlines OnDemand, DOF preview, lighweight, 10 segments metering...
Weakness:
Flash synch is 1/125 only For a long time, i wish my Pronea 6i can use 35mm films and finally it comes out naming F80 plus a lot more features. This is the champion in its rank. Highly recommend. Similar Products Used: Nikon F60D, Pronea 6i |

Strength:
Dynamic AF, Matrix metering, Grid lines on demand, built-in flash that supports 3D matrix
Weakness:
None that I can spot An inexpensive camera from nikon that comes with all the great features that are more than enough for a serious amateur like me. The matrix metering works under all sorts of tricky light conditions and I haven't yet identified an environment that can totally fool the system. Although it's no match for the pro models from Nikon or other brands, I believe I have picked a camera that far exceeds my expectation. Btw, I tested out a few rolls with Sigma 28-105 f2.8-4 ASP lens and the shots came out pretty gd. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Lightweight, compact, and intuitive controls. Excellent matrix metering and autofocus. Nice feel on hand with MB-16 battery pack.
Weakness:
Manual lenses can't be used. Slow flash sync at 1/125. Get MB-16 battery pack as it will help with the grip of N80. Without it, my pinky finger just feels out of place. Custom functions are useful especially for controlling how and when you to do autofocus. Customer Service None needed. Similar Products Used: Nikon N8008s, Nikon FM, Canon Rebel G |

Strength:
good all around camera, fast AF, and a good metering system.
Weakness:
I have discovered a problem in the n80. In talking to one of the men at the local camera store, I found that they have sold about 30 n80's, and have had 2 come back because the aF area selector on the back of the camera fell off, once after only 3 days. Also, the inability to meter with manual focus lenses seems to be a huge mistake to me. Supposedly a good camera, packed with features, but if it can't survive a few years of shooting, what's the point of putting $500 into it. I say go with the n90s instead.
