Weakness:
Heavy An excellent camera! I have been very happy with it. The N90 and the SB-28 have given me some amazing pics in eaven the most difficult lighting situations. It is heavy and expensive, which make me hesitant to carry it a lot, resulting in some missed opportunities, but o/w outstanding. I would definitely buy another except that I think that I want to buy a lesser camera like the N60 or the N80 for a back up. If you get this camera, you won't be dissappointed and you'll take great pictures. Customer Service Good Similar Products Used: None |

Takes Nikon lenses
Weakness:
Needs a back for Multiple Exposures. This camera kicks ass. Top FPS is way fast enough for me. Focusing works really well and plenty fast. It does things for me, but if I don't want it too, I don't have to let it (unlike Microsoft Products). I've done almost nothing but fine art photography up until this point. Suddenly I'm having a blast photographing action and sports. Good camera for Everything. It doesn't have mirror lockup, but I have an F3 that does, so I just use that if I ever need it (which I haven't since I got the N90s), since you don't really need AF with mirror lockup :) Metering options are really nice, and matrix metering hasn't let me down (but I avoid using it when I think it might, so I haven't given it a chance to prove me wrong). Strength:
Still fast autofocus and compatible with AF-S lenses. It incorporates simply any feature you will ever nees- sometimes you'll have to buy the MF26 though!!
Weakness:
the bodyshell made of polyc. I don't like it and I think that Nikon could have used magnesium?! If you can't afford the F% and F100 this is the modern semipro nikon to go for. don't think of buying the f80- it's not ass good and 'hearhear' the AF is slower on that anyway!!! Customer Service nikon is expensive, we all now that. never used it for the camera only for a lens Similar Products Used: Canon manualfocus slrs |

Strength:
The best camera I have ever used. After many years publishing Bating Racing events newsletters...with my manual focus cameras this is a dream come true. It is fast and very handy to use..anyone can learn to go from a manual camera to this dream machine in a matter of minutes.
Weakness:
You will need an mb-10 grip to give yourself a proper platform to work from... This camera is built to fit almost any need. However you will need the Mf-26 back and Mb-10 grip to pull the whole unit together..But it is still a great camera for the money. Customer Service Never needed. Strength:
dependable,basic, affordable, semi pro camera.
Weakness:
Plastic feel, poor ergonomic design(the shutter speed knob is too small, more difficult use of manual f-stop adjustment. The MB10 is a needed improvement for the cameras "hand-holdibility". A dependable, basic autofocus 35mm.However if given the option of the N90s or a F100- it's the F100.The N90s ergonomics are awkward- the shutter speed knob is too small. Although a dependable performer, it does not have "that feel" that the F100, F5 and other cameras posess. It is a generic feeling instrument. If your budget allows, go a step up to the F100 or F5. Strength:
Balanced fill-flash using 3D matrix metering with Nikon speedlights
Weakness:
*heavy Hailed by Nikon as one of the greatest autofocus 35mm cameras of all time, the N90S truly ought to be phased out immediately. The poorly-designed construction has the user looking up frequently to search for controls and using two hands unnecessarily, slowing down operation significantly. Further, in a time when Canon offers 45-point autofocus, this slow, single-point, center-oriented autofocus camera feels like a serious dinosaur. After using this camera for two years and then switching to an F100, I would never, ever, ever recommend that anyone buy the N90S, despite the price difference. As a photojournalist shooting portraits, sports, the outdoors and news events, I found the N90S seriously inhibited my ability to consistently produce the images I envisioned. The F100's thoughtful design, accelerated autofocus and frame speed, custom functions and easy-to-use five-point autofocus make the N90S a candidate for an unceremonious hurl into a bath of primordial ooze. If that language isn't strong enough, I'll make it as clear as possible: don't buy this camera. Customer Service Attempted use once with a gray market Nikon camera... Nikon USA wouldn't touch it. Never buy gray market! Similar Products Used: Nikon F5 |
