Strength:
It's just the camera body for my needs. The ability to use AA-lithiums is great! Just try alkalines in -20C and you know what I'm talking about...
Weakness:
Multiple AF-spots would be nice... A good, sturdy body for an active amateur or even a pro Customer Service In Finland - absolutely great! Similar Products Used: Various Nikons, few Canons |

Affordable, Wide range of shutter speeds, Focus locking, AP is the best means to use the camera, AF is fast and accurate plus the continuous AF is accurate when shooting moving subjects
Weakness:
None The n90s has been a joy to use. I only shoot in the AP program and I find that the camera has been very accurate in its metering and has produced some excellent photos. The depth of field review is an excellent quide for selecting your apperature. Customer Service No need to use Similar Products Used: Pentax EII and Pentax Z10 |

The N90S is a wonderfully designed camera. The body is a comfortable weight even when held for a lengthy period (compared to the F4), and the metering systems are outstanding.
Weakness:
I've owned this camera for the past 2 years and haven't had a problem yet. The Nikon N90S is an outstanding camera. I've enjoyed using it in various situations for the past 2 years: an aerial photo shoot from a helicopter, concert photography, and several weddings. This camera has never let me down. I recommend it very highly! Customer Service No problems, therefore haven't had a chance to test customer service. Similar Products Used: Nikon F4, Nikon 8008s, Nikon 8008 |

N/A at this time i have F90X for yrs, and it's a very good machine. After the F5 and F100 released, the F90X becomes more affordable. Even though i have the F5 already, i still think the F90X is very good Customer Service very good Similar Products Used: F5, F100, F4 |

N90s Body
Strength:
Solid feel, fast and accurate focusing (compared to contemporaries), takes a large range of MF/AF Nikkors.
Weakness:
Battery from the MB10 had occational electrical contact problems. Not sure why as it was not even dusty. I wish it could be more frugal with the batteries. The camera is very competent, quick and responsive with excellent exposure accuracy and flash control. However, it always felt half-baked to me as it is more a "converted" high end consumer camera rather than a true ground-up designed pro gear. Evidences of such maybe found in its "variprogram" feature, the lack of bracketing, multiple exposure, among many other functions on the main body. One can only access those functions by an add-on databack, and from there the control becomes a challenge in itself. Additionally, you can't program it easily, but have to spend more to get the notorious datalink kit. Not nearly as customizable as the EOS1n in that respect, and certainly feels gadgety with all the add on's. Aside from these integration "flaws", the essentials do work very well, with the exposure and focus being the best I've came across. Can't wait to check out the new F5 and F100. Customer Service Sent in for a general maintaince. I'd recommend sending nothing except the camera, lest the rest never comes back to you. Similar Products Used: F3, EOS1, EOS1n, FE2, FM2n |

Strength:
This camera finally convinced me that I could leave the old control systems behind. It is intuitive to use, has great metering, and is durable. I use it a lot in low light situations and have no complaints.
Weakness:
Mirror prelock would be nice, but the bulk of my work is with dynamic subjects (wildlife, birds, people). So far it has not been a factor. This camera felt great to me from the moment I picked it up. I have always liked Nikon's durability and thoroughly tested approach to adding new features. With one of their new "s" long lenses, I suppose the F5 would be desirable, but so far the lighter N90s has performed extremely well. It has survived some interesting mountain bike crashes with no problems so far. Customer Service None needed so far. Similar Products Used: other new Nikons, FE, various Canons |

Strength:
Has spot metering mode, autofocus, auto film advance.
Weakness:
Does not have mirror lock-up, which I frequently use. The lack of mirror lock-up is a serious omission for the photography I do (landscapes, macros, still lifes, abstracts). I mainly use this camera as my "hand-held shooting" complement to a tripod-supported F3, for wildlife or other photography where I use faster shutter speeds. The autofocus and film advance is helpful for the latter. However, I almost feel as though I'm using the N90S as an expensive P&S when I do that, even though I still meter manually. Strength:
Like the spot metering and the layout of controls
Weakness:
Like many autofocus cameras you have to deal with the autofocus sensor being in the middle of the viewfinder. This can be a problem in rapid shooting situations. Seems like a good value, better features than the N70 (although only slightly) and considerably less expensive than the F100 Customer Service None needed so far Similar Products Used: Nikon F100, Nikon F70 |

Handles well, controls well placed for most often used functions, takes full range of auto focus and manual focus lenses

None up to this time Has been upstaged slightly by F100, but has virtually the same features in a proven product and at a much lower price. For someone who can overcome the need for the latest camera out, it represents a very good choice. Customer Service Not needed with this particular product Similar Products Used: Nikon F4, F5, F100 |

Solid build, good geatures.
Weakness:
No Very good well-built camera with features most pros want. Add the MF-26 multi-function control back and you obtain more features such as double exposure, bracketing, date/time stamp, etc. Still a lot lighter than an F5, even with the MB-10 vertical grip and batteries.
