N90s Body
Strength:
As part of Nikon's System, the N90s utilizes all of my existing equipment. Seems to respond to most circumstances and the autofocus tracks footabll and basketball without too much distraction.
Weakness:
None so far. The pre-set auto settings are inflexable and do not apply often, however that is not a feature I bought the body for. The N90s has all the technology of the F4, perhaps not all the features but all if not more technology. Features set to most average photographers. If you need more or different features move up the the F100. Excellent Camera! Customer Service Have not had an opportunity to use customer service on this camera. Nikon service has always responded fast and repairs have been on time in the past. Member of Nikon Professional Service. Similar Products Used: F, F2as, F3HP, FM2 |

Strength:
The N90s has extremely accurate medering in difficult lighting situations. I have yet to encounter a scene that this camera couldn't handle. It also weights significantly less than the F5
Weakness:
No autobracketing. A great SLR for those who want professional quality without the price. Similar Products Used: N/A |

Strength:
It feels good, it has features which I like, it is rugged, and after a learning, curve is easy to use
Weakness:
None. I fell with the camera on my shoulder. It hit the concrete pavement, but the hit did not effect the operation. After using the F3 for years, I found I needed an autofocus camera. This camera meets all my needs, and probably has feartures I may never use. The autofocusing is marvelous, the exposure bracketing with the MF-26 back is great. I can use my old MF 24mm lens 35mm for fast lens using the rangefinder in the viewfinder. It was well worth the price. Strength:
Solid feeling, intuitive ot use. Excellent flash exposures
Weakness:
They could have put the AE lock button somewhere else, kinda hard to use vertically. Also, flash exposure compensation on the body would have been great Excellent camera, for an amateur or pro. Everything has been positive so far. Similar Products Used: None |

Very comfortable grip, weight is very stable. Very fast focus. TTL flash,
Weakness:
I wish the focus lock was in a better position. Especially when shooting sports photography with a longer lens. I have been using the camera for work and haven't had any major problems arrise. I think right it's more camera than I need. Customer Service Have yet to deal with it. Similar Products Used: Nikon E3s |

Excellent matrix and spot metering. Very good and auto-focus speed.
Weakness:
None. Camera has performed to expectations and beyond. This camera is highly underated, especially since the introduction of the F100. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone that is an advanced amateur or budding professional. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: A2E, F100, F5 |

N90s Body
Strength:
Very easy to use, very good 1% spot meter, also great Matrix and center weight meter, Great TTL and Flash capabilities, the camera´s MF-26 adds great funtions, like bracketing, multiple exposure, intervalometer, data etc. Very well built, great ergonomics, it can take different kinds of batterys, fast AF, deph if field preview button, separate AF-lock and Auto exposure lock buttons.
Weakness:
Noisy film advance and rewind, lacks mirror lock up, bracketing and multiple exposure available only with MF-26 data back. Absolutely great camera! great functions and ease of use, very friendly. In my personal opinion this is a PRO camera! great for the price too, I have tested it along with the Eos 5, which maybe considered its Canons counter part, due to its price, and I´ll take The N90s over it, because it has 1/3 stop increments, +-5 EV exposure compensator, and much, much better TTL flash system. The only thing I liked better of the Eos5 is the silent film advance and slightly better AF. Customer Service I have used it with this camera for a film advance problem that was repaired under warranty, at Nikon in Mexico city, which was ver Slow and with other Nikon equipment I have sent very expensive, also they dont have spare parts most of the time, I had to dump an SB-24 flash because they couldnt repair it. Strength:
Powerfull options, ruggedness, and great optics to choose from in addition to great customer service and a fair price make it a great deal. The depth of field preview and 1/3 stops give you lots of power in your photography. The metering is excellent, is is difficult to fool. Autofocus is pretty fast, as is film advance. Combine it with an SB28, and you have a powerfull combination with flash sync speeds up to 1/4000 s.
Weakness:
None. A mirror lock-up would be nice, since on some extreme close-ups (greater than 1:1) i get fuzzy pictures when using a tripod, electronic shutter release, etc. Great solid value for the money gives you a very powerfull entry-level pro camera that will allow you to do just about any kind of photography. Rugged, and with a great set of optics to choose from, it's hard to beat. Customer Service Although i haven't had this serviced by nikon, i have had great customer service from then when i have had other products serviced by them. Similar Products Used: None. |

Its all metal chassis. Its straightforward layout. The fact that all my other Nikon lenses fit it.
Weakness:
None, despite five years of very hard professional use on motorcycle and photography magazines This is a professional quality camera, no two ways about it. It's aimed at the dedicated enthusiast and given a price to match. We pros should be thankful for that. Customer Service Never used it Similar Products Used: Nikon F, Nikon FM, Nikon F3, Nikon F801, Nikon F4, Nikon F5, Canon EOS 5, EOS 10, EOS 1, plus most Minolta and Pentax ca |

Strong camera-fast auto-focus-great flash system.
Weakness:
The latch for the film back of one body got some grit in it-I have seen this on another body owned by another photogapher. also after some use, the rubber covering on film door wears off in spots. minor stuff after MUCH use! Great camera! Never lets me down! I could use them for as long as we still use film (before digital takes over). Still I must admit to having eyes for an F100! I am just now starting to use the new AF-S 80-200 f2.8d lens...Works great! Customer Service Have not needed much. Similar Products Used: I have been using 2 N90S and 1 N90 body for several years now. Also, I use a Kodak/Nikon DCS-410 digital based on the N9 |
