Strength:

I always get the perfect shot that I wanted. I have the option of expanding with this model as I get a little more used to it and learn more about photography.

Weakness:

None for me and I have had it for over a year so far.

This is a great camera for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge in photagraphy but is a little too intimidated by all the little buttons and gadgets to get the perfect picture. There is a green mode and it turns into almost a point and shoot.

Strength:

It is easy to use and the the manual/auto option is great. I wanted something that I could use for 'artist' photos and not have to be bogged down when taking point and shoot. Another great feature is that I can use old Pentax K-mount lenses on this, and you can not on the zx50.

Weakness:

The lense that usually is packaged with it could be better. It slips out of focus at the slightest touch.

It is a great camera. I have already gotten some photos back and they look great. It is a wonderful camera for a beginner or seasoned photographer!

Strength:

This is an easy camera for a beginner to use yet has enough features to challenge the beginner which allows the user to grow in the experience of photography. I like the ease of using the program mode for just taking pictures and allowing the camera to select my settings. However, the camera allows one to use AP mode to set up your own desired settings. The AF is fast and accurate. The Z-10 we have is a rugged little thing for it has been dropped a few times and still is doing fine.

Weakness:

None. I gave this camera to my wife when I bought my N90s. She loves the camera and is a very fast learner in the 35mm camera world.(However, the camera could use a Continuous Servo Auto Focus!)

The Z-10 is an excellent choice for the person who wants to step up to a camera that I think ranks near the top in nonprofessional equipment.

Strength:

Easy to use by entire family. Nice auto mode selection, can use non AF pentax lenses

Weakness:

AF hunts in lower light; for instance Canon Elan has a near ir focus beam to help. Faster lens would help as well.

Pentax does not get the attention the big guys do. This results in not as many lenses etc being available. However, for the regular family photographer, there is more than plenty. Excellent for beginners, yet allows flexibility for more experienced photogs.
