Strength:

Excellent quality optics, inexpensive, well build and good looking camera

Weakness:

lack of Depth of field preview ,multiple exposures missing, mirror lock button not provided, focus setting takes some time

I have been using this camera for 9 years and undoubtedly it is one of the best camera. Though it lacks various automations that other electronic brands are featuring but that does not means that this camera is way behind those brands. In fact it is in some way better because you have full control on the picture and have self satisfaction when the prints arrive to you. The quality of optics is very good. I have taken excellent slides with it which are in no way inferior to slides taken from other brands like Nikon,Canon etc. Excellent camera for all those who wish to have full control on their pictures and lack of auto features are not a hinderence for them.

Strength:

Light of weight. Easy to use. Sturdy. Takes Zeiss and Yashica lenses..also 3rd party lenses in Y/C mount.

Weakness:

None

This is such a good camera. It is lightweight, easy to use, sturdy and it takes both yashica and Zeiss lenses. I bought mine in 1990 and about 3 or 4 years ago gave it to a lady friend of mine. She loves it too.

Strength:

Well build. Easy to use. Feels great. Metering is good. Reliable. Uses Zeiss lenses.

Weakness:

Nothing at this price.

This was my first 35mm. I bought it in 1988. I''m very pleased with the results. I''ve taken many wedding and school pictures over the years and it still works like the first day I bought it. It''s been on many hiking trails with me. I use mine with a Vivitar flash. This is the best buy for a beginner!

Customer Service

Never needed it.

Strength:

Price, simplicity, lightweight, reliability, metering.

Weakness:

None.

Small, light, simple, sturdy and unexpensive. High value for your money. The best SLR for beginners. Metering is very good. Yashica lenses are cheap, but pretty good. Zeiss are better, but very expensive. That''s the limit for Yashica/Contax SLR system: if you start with an unexpensive camera such as the FX3 and you want something more, you have to make the big leap to Contax-Zeiss. And if you want an AF body it''s better to change to another brand (I choose Nikon).

Believe it or not... this camera is a true bargain for the price i payed for it. Fully manual, with an under-prized lenses in the second hand market. Excellent as a second manual body.

Strength:

Excellent design, very easy to use, metering very reliable, a good varity of lenses are available. Fully manual, so you have to know what you're doing. Perfect student camera.

Weakness:

None.

This is an excellent camera to learn the art of photography. Fully mechanical, has longer life because there is no chance of electronic device faliure, which is very common in the high-tech cameras. For the price the picture quality is very, very good. 5 Stars.

Strength:

Sharp as a tack, easy to use. Takes tons of different brands of lenses at pretty decent prices. ALL MANUAL! I love mine, I've had it for a little over a year and just aquired a 135mm macro lens, I am just over-all impressed with this camera and would not trade it for an automatic, no way, no how. Very simple. No huge expensive battery packs to buy.

Weakness:

none, in my opinion.

GREAT camera for you money. With all the lenses you can buy for it, how can you say no? It's not as well known as Canon, Nikon and Minolta. But I say, if it is made in Japan, it's got to be quality stuff.

Customer Service
