Strength:

Size, Ease of use and quality pics

Weakness:

On/Off switch is too easy to accidently hit, and the buttons for day/time and timer are too small.

Overall great package for the price. Picture quality is good, not the same as my Minolta SLR, but much clearer and sharper than my KODAK APS it replaced. Pretty tough too, dropped from 4'' off a rock face and didn''t even scratch.

Strength:

This camera's greatest strength is it's tiny size. It's so small that that it's hardly noticable in my pocket. Since I bought it I always have a camera handy when I see something that just -needs- to be photographed.

Weakness:

Its biggest weakness is its wide-angle fixed focal length lens. This camera is terrible for taking snapshots of people, because the wide-angle lens leaves a choice between standing close enough to the subject that they will appear distorted in the photograph, or else standing far enough away from the subject that they are lost in a sea of extranious clutter.

The camera seems to have been designed to take wide panoramic shots, and was designed so at the expense of everything else. That's the only reason I can think of that Canon would have put a wide-angle lens on it rather than a ``normal'' angle lens. A normal lens would be much better suited to the sorts of snapshots most people want to take.

While it is fun and convenient to have a camera small enough to take everywhere, once the novelty of having a camera this small had worn off, I was left regretting having purchased it because its lens was inadequate to the sort of everyday snapshot shooting to which its size is suited. As a result, although I have carried the camera in my pocket to many places where I wouldn't have wanted to take a larger caamera, it has stayed in my pocket on many occasions when I would have taken it out had it had a normal lens.

Unless you know that wide-angle photos are the only type you want to take, I would strongly recommend either getting a camera with a normal range lens, or spending the 20% extra and getting a zoom lens.

Strength:

Small and Compact

Weakness:

Unacceptable optical quality. Not sharp and crisp.

Yes, it's small and light and cute. But, I have shot 3 rolls with this camera and have been consistently disappointed each time. The lines are not crisp I assume due to the poor lens quality. Landscape and "infinity" shots were particularly bad. Granted, I am comparing to my 35mm SLR, but I was so unimpressed that I would compare the pictures to a disposable camera. I am getting an APS Rollei instead and am giving this camera to my kids. Cool features are fine, but I need a good, sharp picture at the end of the day.

Strength:

Compact feature is easy to carry around and buttons are recessed sufficiently to avoid accidental bumps. Takes great dawn and sunset pictures and unbelievable great black and white photos.

Weakness:

Feature buttons for date/time/title and also flash and red eye reduction are hard to press due to small size. Flash mode takes practice.

Overall this camera has been fun and has also been used as a teaching camera for my 9 year old daughter - small camera for small hands - works great!

Customer Service

Have never had to call.

Strength:

Size, ease of use, accuracy, photo quality, value.

Weakness:

Weak flash, lack of feel to shutter release. Light weight a hindrance in a heavy wind.

Regular camera is a Rolleiflex; far too awkward and expensive to keep with me at all times. Needed a quality, completely auto and self-contained unit that would fit in my shirt pocket. This certainly does-even in its custom carry case (a plastic camping soap dish!). The lack of mechanical feel to the trigger takes some adjustment on the user's part, as does the need to brace up under windy conditions (!). Outdoor photos I've taken with ASA 200 are much better than I expected, with deep, rich color (even using drugstore processing); grain structure doesn't impair snapshots. Indoor flash requires close range; once I figured that out, got some decent shots (I've also found that even moderate ambient lighting makes a huge difference). All in all, I'm pleased with the performance and the quality.

Customer Service

Strength:

compactness and light weight - cheap price too!

Weakness:

flash bounceback and dispersions (flare);
can't find the original Canon carrying case for the camera

Love small cameras...Olympus Pen F, Rollei 35T, Canon Demi etc. Elph LT is small, light weight.. definitely a carry around camera for occasional shots, or second camera to lug around. Used it during the recent Las Vegas CES or Consumer Electronics Show - quite impressed with the results. Tried Kodak's ASA 400 film for flash pictures indoors - beautiful color and results within flash range; ASA 200 for outdoors and night scenes are OK too. I am trying out the Elph Jr. to see if the larger opening of f/2.8 has any significant difference. The small buttons on the LT are a hassle to deal with when changing flash modes. No remote and mid roll change on this model. Otherwise, I'll be rating this an all around 5 star camera.

Customer Service

Can't tell me whether the carrying case is even available

Strength:

Nice, sharp pictures, great color, H prints are better for groups of people. Color very realistic thanks to IX. Use Kodak film, and get it processed with Kodak Premium Processing (Costco is good for it). AVOID WAL-MART PROCESSING (well, the 1-hr their is OK) THEY WILL BLUR ALL YOUR PICTURES!!!!

Weakness:

Just Wal-Mart processing, Fuji film isn't as good of color as Kodak (but still really good). Camera has been great but.

Great camera. Only about $75 at Wal-Mart. Go for it!

Strength:

size and convenience of APS are #1, so far it has withstood a fair amount of abuse with no problem

Weakness:

DATE AND TITLE FEATURES ARE A LITTLE TRICKY, OTHER THAN THAT, IT'S GREAT

for the price(i got mine for $89.00), it's a huge step up from entry-level crap. an excellent 'take around to parties' point-and-shoot with all the features you REALLY need-if you're really concerned with composition of a posed shot, it might not be the best choice, but for spur of the moment shots, it can't be beat.

Size, portability and of course APS technology

Weakness:

Nothing really, Except that the film can't be changed and reinserted mid-way (the way APS films are supposed to perform). Not an option in this camera. Also use flash in shaded area (even minimally shaded ones).

great camera to carry around. Snap and forget. Versitile. YOu can shoot a subject from 3 feet away with clarity.
