Strength:

A fast and easy to use camera and the aps features is great. The small body makes it ideal for carrying it around outdoors.

Weakness:

It tends to be quite unbalanced when you use bigger lenses.

Canon EOS IX is truly a fantastic camera if you´re looking for an slr-camera with the APS-system, and the fact that you can use the standard lenses for canon eos is a huge plus compared to Minolta S-1 for instance, and the remote is also a great feature..and it´s cheap too.

Customer Service

No idea..the camera is working perfectly.

Strength:

Great package. Easy to use, but has lots of options for later.

Weakness:

Pictures under lights not the greatest (spotlights).

This is a great camera that takes awesome pictures. I tried the ELF370Z first, but it doesn't even compare to this one. Recommend to beginners. It is easy to use and the different picture formats are great.

Customer Service

Haven't had any problems so far.

Weakness:

Are you joking?

I got it for $300 from Wolf Camera, special offer - last one in shop, was supposed to be $650 - lucky me!

Strength:

Ease of use. You just drop the film in and go.

Weakness:

None that I've run into. Just make sure that whomever develops your film is equipped to handle APS film -- a lot of the drugstores and quickie places don't have the actual processors to develop APS film correctly.

I was wary of buying an APS camera, having used an AF SLR for 12 years. I read every negative review about the EOS IX that I could find, but there weren't many. And there's a reason... the thing is simple to use, is extremely lightweight, and it takes great pictures too! I'm very happy and would recommend the camera to anyone.

Strength:

Cute; girls like it

Weakness:

The body is a little too small and the viewfinder is too dim

The Canon EOS IX is very handsome, solidly constructed and a serious photographic tool. The stainless steel body really enhances the look and feel...it feels good in the hand. I especially like being able to use my EOS lenses, although larger lenses (e.g., 200 2.8 L or 300 F4 L) don't balance well on such a small body. Small zooms and prime lenses balance perfectly. The pictures seem as sharp as my A2, but I miss being able to use slide film. The camera has one problem: the viewfinder is too dim and small (only 60% life size), even dimmer than the EOS 1N (3 stops light loss?). Thus, slow zooms (e.g., F5.6) are difficult to use indoors, even during the day (use a 2.8 or faster lenses indoors or at night). The same lenses on my A2 is much brighter. If it had a brighter viewfinder it would rate a 5, but it certainly earned a 4.

Customer Service

Strength:

The camera is extremely small and stylish. I love carrying it around on vacation. The straps are fixed on the body so that the lens points downward on the side of your body. Most other cameras has strap mounts on top so that large lens stick out awkardly to the side. This camera is very easy to walk around with. And the girls love it. It is the best camera body in the APS category.

Weakness:

Smaller none 35mm format. AF assist beam can not be disabled.

An excellent camera. Even though I love 35mm much more, I can't bear to get rid of it.

Customer Service

Never had to call.

Strength:

Rugged body. Compact size. Coolest and most beautiful SLR body ever!

No mirror lockup but the vibration is the lowest I had felt so deem such feature unnecessary. IR remote.1/200 X-sync. Metal mount. Accepts all EOS lens

APS is great for telephotography, about '1.25x longer FL' than 35mm equivalent.

Weakness:

Rather heavy. NO DOF PREVIEW!! Framing of C,H,P difficult to see under low light conditions but non-critical.

I can't classify it according to 35mm cameras but I would think of it as a compact 50 with no custom functions. Dont think that without mirror lockup, you can't take decent macro, coz the vibration is absolutely minimal.

I have yet to see any SLR to come close in terms of features, size, beauty. A bit expensive but it's definitely worth it.

This is my preferred snapshot camera coupled with 28-105 USM. I carry it all day long. Don't get the IX7...no metal mount, flimsy body...no IR remote

Customer Service

Not tried yet but their email service is dead lousy and unhelpful

Strength:

Beautiful. Very fast focusing. Only EOS 3 and 5 are faster of those I tried.
MRC is a breeze compared to 35mm. X-sync is 1/200, most 35mm cameras don't even come close.small body, easy to grip, very solid feel, metal bodied.

Weakness:

APS...but then 35mm can't be that small. A bit heavy but I'm a girl

Real beauty....can hold its own as a really good camera for most purposes. Even on paper, no other APS SLR came close and no SLR ever look so cool and beautiful.

Customer Service

....don't bother
