Strength:

Geringe gewicht van de body en objektieven, de vele instelmogelijkheden. De camera ligt lekker in de hand.

Weakness:

"Plastic gevoel" als je de camera in de hand hebt. De kwaliteit van de foto`s in kombinatie met de IX objektieven.

Voor de beginnende fotograaf heeft deze camera teveel instel mogelijkheden. Voor de gevorderde fotograaf is de kwaliteit van de foto`s (met IX lenzen) niet goed genoeg. Deze camera is geschikt voor fotografen die een lichte camera met veel instelmogelijkheden zoekt en niet te kritisch kijkt naar de kwaliteit van de foto`s.

Strength:

A nice piece of kit all round.

Pros: Looks great, chunky and nice to hold, great exposure system, autofocus, features, built like a Nikon, good optics, plastic mounts on lenses, APS features, auto labs get better pics from APS because there's so much info in the film.

Weakness:

Cons: Slow to access functions because of menu system, self-timer doesn't beep so you can't tell it's going, not a great range of film available for APS.

Why have I put plastic lens mounts as a plus? Well I dropped the 60-180 the other day and because its so light there's not a mark on it. Changed my mind about the plastic on the spot.

Some of the APS features are great. I use mid-roll change a lot, going colour to B&W.

If I did a lot of enlargements I may not like APS so much, but most of my work is for web and the convenience and cataloguing features are great. This is so much better than the digital options I could afford.

Strength:

Solid feel. Nice mix of novice and advanced features. Metal (more durable than plastic) lense mounting flange for those who switch lenses oftenly. Very fast and accurate autofocus. Compatible to lots of Nikon AF lenses.

Weakness:

Dust get into the back display (no gasket there). x

I have been using Nikon products since 1980 and very satisfied with Nikon quality. Somewhat disappointed with the resolution of APS format. I felt that the 35 format provides more details. The Pronea 6i to me, however, is the best quality AF SLR you can get for the money.

Strength:

Very solid feel yet light weight. Functions accomodate the beginner and advanced user. Sleak looks combined with solid performance makes this an excellent camera.

SLR along with APS is an excellent combination giving you all the advantages of both.

Weakness:

None!

This has been the best camera I have owned in a long long time. Second only to my F2A Photomic.

Customer Service

Excellent as always. Even though I did not purchase this camera directly from Nikon the service (questions) has been first rate.

Strength:

Very nice feel and design, feature packed, glad that APS not completely relegated to point and shoots, AF nicely handled.

Weakness:

APS film choice limitations, Very busy LCD panel, manual use not intuitive, viewfinder could be brighter

A beautiful camera that feels very nicely proportioned. Picture quality excellent, though not stunning. Packed with features, but minimalists will not prefer the busy LCD to dials. Has been very durable and versatile. While the APS point and shoots have some benefits over 35mm, this camera is not really a strong challenge to 35mm SLR's(would not switch if you are satisfied with your 35mm SLR), but it is a terrific camera for those of us who like APS and want a full-featured SLR. Probably not worth the MSRP, but a great second-hand or on-sale camera to get.

Strength:

Nikon Lens Compatibility

Weakness:

User Interface is too poor.
Poor Paint (pealed off)
Battery lid metal part broken off.
Poor Battery Compartment Design.

It is nice to hold. But it is too slow to change any setting. You have to flip camera to even change light compensation. New batteries do not last long. I am suprised with poor design. I do not think enginners who design this camera take any pictures. I am very disappointed with this camera. The design of the Battery holder area is so poorly done ( I would like to see the designer). I am happy with other Nikon products, and I still think reliabilities of other Nikon products are top notch.

Customer Service

I have send to replace flush cover for paint problem. and came back with hair in the view finder. I am suprised with poor service level.
I was expecting better quolity control. Maybe because it has done in Canada?

Strength:

Pic clarity, comfortable to use,
good manual over-rides

Weakness:

Eats batteries for breakfast. Not very user friendly - fiddly to make manual adjustments.

Great camera if you can afford the batteries (had to take the batteries out whenever I was not using the camera). I'm sure the one I had was faulty, but diabolical service could not fix it, even though I was willing to pay to correct the problem. For this reason, I have switched to a Canon EOS APS which is as good to use and a lot more user friendly. Batteries also last for over 30 rolls of film! Overall rating poor because of bad service.

Customer Service

Bad. Could not solve battery draining problem (claimed nothing wrong with it) and would not change the battery curcuit board , even at my cost (claimed unnecessary). Camera returned with broken battery flap.
