Strength:

Fairly compact, GREAT looking camera

Weakness:

Lens is not sharp when wide open, inconvenient flash controls, too boxy to be pocket size.

If the looks is what you are after, 35ti is a great conversation starter. If you want to take pictures, Konica Hexar beats the hell out of 35ti.

Strength:

Solid build, has been reliable, high quality lens, versitile settings.

Weakness:

A little large to be easily pocketable but it depends on the pocket. Mine goes with me everywhere in my briefcase or car.

I debated about buying a 35ti for a long time. My only regret is I waited so long. Mine travels with me everywhere. The quality of the resulting slides and prints is quite high. I regularly use Nikon SLR's and Rollei Medium Format. The photographs from the 35ti are quite usable for projection and for up to 8x10 prints. Yes, the flash button is fiddly, but the other features outweigh that disadvantage for me. I agree about the difficulty of setting the custom functions by memory without the manual. In fact, I made a pocket card with the custom function settings and laminated it and it now resides in my wallet. It is fairly expensive although the price is comparable to other high end Auto pocket cameras. This is one I would buy again, which is not the case with many others I have owned and used.

Strength:

Compact, super sharp lens, good operation

Weakness:

doesn't have a very high shutter speeds

being so used to SLRs i was getting really frustrated with compact cameras, but I needed one with a awesome lens and a small size and I found it! The 35ti is amazing if you dont mind spending a little bit of money on a good compact.

Strength:

Sturdy construction, great instrument displays, ultra-sharp lens

Weakness:

None

Simply one of the best pictures you can get from a camera that fits in your pocket. A little on the pricey side of the house for what you get, but it takes photos of equal quality to most upper mid range SLRs. If you want to go out on the town or on vacation and still want great photos with out lugging your bag around this is the way to go.

Strength:

A reasonably fast lens housed in a solidly built, but not indestructible, body.

Weakness:

Flash overide and flash cancel buttons are designed for pencil thin fingers. Rugged body is compromised by glass-covered analog dials (which, nonetheless, are part of the charm).

High priced, but well constructed. Mine has been to Europe twice and across the US and has never failed me. It's a great grab and shoot camera that allows for some creative compensation beyond the typical point-and-shoot.

Strength:

The lens is razor sharp, the body is built like a tank, the top deck analog display is very informative and has the look of a fine Swiss Chronometer.

Weakness:

None, after two years with lots of use.

The 35Ti is a great camera and has made me enthusiastic about casual photography again!I bought my first Nikon in 1971 (Nikon FTN) and have been in the Nikon system ever since. I also own a Hasselblad 501 CM.I know my cameras and lenses and this one is a keeper!

Customer Service

No problems so I can't say.

Strength:

Feel, flexibility, solid construction, control, optics are very good

Weakness:

Yes, broke down three separate times. Stopped working completely. Just died for no reason.

I have been a Nikon user since the F2. Based on my experience they did not get this one right. Totally unreliable for me. Also, Nikon did not fix it correctly two out of three times. The camera store where I bought the camera told me others reported similiar significant problems. I gave the camera away and bought the Contax TVS II (excellent camera).

Customer Service

Incompetent. Took too long. The worst! Not Nikon quality (sad to say).
