Kodak Gold 200 Print Film

Kodak Gold 200 Print Film

DESCRIPTION

Kodak Gold 200 is great film for bright or partly sunny conditions. It provides a refined combination of color saturation, color accuracy, and sharpness in a 200-speed film.

Strength:

Nice sharp images
Natural color
Flattering skin tones
Good contrast

Weakness:

Can be a little warm colored in some situations. Not a problem if you are aware of it.

This is a fine non-professional print film. Perfect for the point and shoot crowd, plus it performs well with a high quality SLR. I always like the reds and yellows on Kodak films. This film is a great value and one to keep on hand regularly for any shooting situation. Try it on some up close people shots. The skin tones are great!

Strength:

Great all-around choice for nearly any camera or situation. Always yields splendid results. Frequently found as a real bargain in 4-packs in megastores.

Lots of this gets pumped through my wife's point&shoot cameras, and my parents have actually used it a lot for pro work. I usually shoot the Royal Gold variants in my own cameras, but I've never had any reason to complain about results with this film. Good value, nice balanced colors, good (not great - go with the Royal Gold for great) sharpness and resolution.

Not a pro film but an excellant general purpose one. Takes care of 90% of the situations you will face.

Strength:

I don't like it.

Weakness:

Grain. Speed. Some saturation excess.

I hate to sound negative (eww, a pun) but this film has no reason for existance. Just by the RG400, and you'll have same or better pix at half the exposure time.

Customer Service

Why bother?

Quality is consistent - pictures taken
with this film have always turned out
clear and sharp.

Weakness:

I use Kodak film more regularly than any other - I can count on the quality of my
prints when I use Kodak. I got a bargain multi-roll pack of Polaroid film at Christmas 99,
and I am so sorry I used it for my holiday pictures. The prints were dark and grainy.
BTW, I use a Canon Sure Shot 35 mm point and shoot.

Strength:

cheap 4 packs
saturated colors- not cold like eqivalent Fuji
Be sure to print on Kodak paper or else you get weird results
not supersharp, but good skin tones, blacks/darks are very heavy - ?contrasty, adding to other colors appearing more saturated

Weakness:

could be a tad sharper like Royal, but then that would be Royal with less saturation- oops, okay no problems

Can't go wrong unless you have a superzoom somthing or other and need faster film.
99.9% of people don't enlarge pics enough to need sharper so maybe I should stop complaining.
Why do I need to add my 2 bits?-We all know that it's good film even if sometimes we buy the cheap stufff to save a buck for a McDouble. :)

Fuji, bulk and otherwise- it is finer grain= sharper, but printing is always messed up with any mass printing machine- n

A good, everyday film with good color results and clear photos. I like the 400 speed of this film better for outdoor pictures, although the 400 is more expensive.
