Model Reviewed: Speedlite 540 EZ Flash

Strength:

This flash offers a good fill for the subject at a great distance; I've had success at =>10 meters. It really brightened up my indoor photos, so much more than the built-in flash on my Elan-II.

The swiveling feature is a REALLY nice option to have, especially when you want to bounce off flash and do a vertical shot!

Weakness:

When Canon asks you to let the flash rest for a few seconds between shots, do it! I shot an awards ceremony and had my flash die on me. Had to repair. Would like to see faster cap charging times on alkaline batteries, you'll get better performance from Ni-Cd. Eats batteries. Very expensive.

If you need distance in your flash, and you can afford the higher price tag (400$), then buy this bright star from Canon.

Customer Service

Canon has awesome support. James Sek in Diamond Bar is great.
