Strength:

1. f/1.8
2. More shutter blades than the nearest Canon equilvalent...Doesn't make a big difference for scenic photography, but could come in handy when using the lens for its macro capability.
3. Includes hood and case.

Weakness:

1. Kinda noisy A/F
2. Big filter size (77mm).
3. Strange system for switching from AF to MF (two step).

This lens produces very sharp, clear pictures. I like the fact that unlike Canon lenses, it includes the hood and a carrying case. The autofocus is pretty quick, but not as quiet as a Canon brand lens, especially a USM. But, for the money, I would definitely recommend this lens. It's sharp, even at f/1.8, feels good in my hands, and for the price is hard to beat.
