Strength:
Tack sharp. Extremely well built.
Weakness:
None. This is probably the best 35mm AF lens out there. Built like a tank and can stand up to anything. However, this is a pro lens and if you're an amateur, aim for one of the lower priced Canons instead. There a "just right" lens for every use out there, one just has to learn what to use and when... Customer Service Great thing about using Canon pro grade equipment is that there's hardly ever any need for customer service... Similar Products Used: Canon 15 Fisheye, 135 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L |

Strength:
Fast ! Crisp sharp ! Incredible piece of glass !
Weakness:
Expensive ! Heavy ! This is one great lens !!! I have used the Sigma 28-70 F2.8 EX and the sharpness at wide open is extremely poor compared to this lens. This lens makes my viewfinder so bright, and every pictures turn out like those in postcards. Even when used in people photography, this lens deliver the goods ! Worth every penny if you have much :> Customer Service Not tried yet Similar Products Used: Sigma 28-70 F2.8 EX |

Strength:
Very fast and sharp optics, very easy to work through zoom range, perfect lens on my D30.
Weakness:
Cost, plastic construction. This lens is very fast, the USM focuses very fast and rock solid. This lens when combined with the 70-200L USM is the perfect combo. Customer Service Very good in the past. Similar Products Used: Wide range of Canon & Nikon lens. |

Strength:
Extremely sharp, even wide open, fast focusing, quiet ,but not as quiet as 70-200 f2.8L USM although no one but you would actually hear it ;-)
Weakness:
Maybe a little bulky for a zoom in this range. My second favorite lens right behind my 70-200 f2.8L USM. At first seemed a little bulky for its zoom range but I found the size to actually be helpful for fast handling and manual focus override. Similar Products Used: EF 70-200 f2.8L USM, EOS 1-V |
