If you need to do manual focus, it could be difficult. The manual focus ring is not very responsive and is very course. Very little movement from minimum focus to infinity. 3/5

This lens is a must for travel, especially if you own a Canon D30. Due to the 1.6x, most 28mm range is not wide enough so the 24-200 x1.6 gives you a good combination for traveling when you don''t want to lug around another lens. I experienced good quality at both ends, could not ask for more for a $300 lens.

flawless. Great value for the $. The lens is built
as good as top line nikon Zooms. Nice heavy, sturdy. Makes very sharp prints through out zoom range. Better than average autofocus speed. Bright
and easy focus through view finder.

Too many to mention. The lens is very well made and the Zoom range is unmatched by anything else on the market.

A little heavy

Up until recently it's been hard to find a review of this lens and I don't know what the professionals are going to say about it in the different photo magazines, but from this amatures point of view, this is an excellent lens.

24-200mm is a definite strength. Autofocus is very fast and the lens is made extremely well.

The lens is a little heavy but that should be expected considering the zoom range and the build quality.

Bottom line is that I have to agree with the other 3 reviewers and rate this lens a 5. I have only taken prints with the lens and most of them have turned out perfect. Slides may show some problems but prints certainly do not.

I think of it this way. IT'S SMALLER THEN 3 LENSES!!!

It's a great lens. My opinion it out performed Tameron's 24-135 and It's less expensive Plus offers a greater range. I upgraded from Tamron's 28-200 and I'm very happy of my decision. Buy this lens before prices go up. (it's a BIG lens)

Excellent choice. I was looking for a do it all lens. Although I used a Sigma and Nikon, 84 degrees(24 mm) lets you get in the frame a lot more than a 28 mm. Heavy and well constructed lens. Tokina says it has effective coatings that you can compare with the quality of the 28-200 asn 24-120 of Nikon. It has SLD wich reproduces sharp pictures even at 200mm. Tokina did a great job on this one, Great LENS!

focus ring for manual focus is a loose but that is normal of IF AF lenses also it is heavy but not a big weakness at all

THis is one heck of a lens, by far the best zoom lens of this range on the market, beats all the 28-200's hands down, only close competition woudl be the Tamrom 28-200 XR but it doesn't even go down to 24mm which is a big difference. And Tokina ATZ build quality is much better than tamrons plastic. I was able to get this slightly used on ebay with a filter for $270 a great deal, can be bought retail for a lil over $300
