    Strength:

I've been using Clark for slide film processing, both e-6 type and k-14.
They have never had any problems at all.
They used to return the e-6 type in plastic frames, while the k-14 arrived in cardboard with Kodak markings. Lately all the slide film comes back in cardboard and Kodak livery.
True, the cardboard mounts require you to keep a can of air around to blow the dust away, but I do that with plastic mounts too.
It is my belief, but I can't prove it, that Clark is sending all it's slide film to Dwaynes to be processed, as they are the only place on earth that will still do k-14.

    Weakness:

One must do a little digging to find the price for slide developing, and as usual, one cannot get slides scanned and put online or onto a CD, but they do this for print film.
The included invoice slip that comes with the mailers makes no mention of slide processing, but the website does.
Negatives come back un-sleeved, just in a little folder.

Great for slides, never a mistake!

    Customer Service

Never had a problem, I overpaid once and they sent a cupon.

    Strength:

Sent Pictures promptly. None of the pictures were bent.

    Weakness:

all my picuters were were not the complete picture

Clark Color Lab is not a site that you should use. I am not angry because after receiving a recommendation to use them I came here to find out the real deal and as far as sending digital photos to have printed, Clark Color Labs does not have very good reviews therefore what I did was take the free shipping for the first 25 photos (and only ordered 25 photos) and only had to pay $2.75 just to see how well my photos would come out. Well... They did not come out very well. All of the pictures were cut off at the bottom and a lot of them were blurry. So I contacted Clark Color Labs and they told me that they printed the pictures exactly how they were digitally sent to them (so it was my computers fault for getting all of the pictures chopped off at the bottom) and that a refund would be given if I sent the pictures back (I would have to pay the shipping) then they would give me my money back. Well shipping them back would be about $3.50 so I opted to keep the pictures ( not to mention that $2.75 isn't enough to get too bothered over anyways) but the customer service was terrible. Therefore I would not recommend this company for people to get pictures from.

    Customer Service

Was terrible. A Company should NEVER tell the customer that it wasn't their fault.

    Strength:

    Inexpensive, convenient, good quality.

    Weakness:

Lead time recently stretched to 2-3 weeks.

This review regards 35mm slide processing. Clark has processed over 50 rolls of slide film for me during the last 2 years at less than $6 a roll including tax and shipping. No rolls have yet been lost. Once a couple frames on a roll got messed up and they sent me $6 in coupons, 2 rolls of new film, and an apology. I don't think it was thier fault because I had removed and reloaded the fim in the middle of the roll and my camera doesn't do a good job of registering it. The mounts are plastic and are numbered and recently they have also been dated. At about the same time they started dating the slides, the turnaround time slipped from about a week to 2 weeks. I can't attribute any flaws to their processing which appears to be A1. They will send you postage paid envelopes to send in your film. They have labs all over the country and you are instructed to send film to the one nearest you. I use the one in Hampton Park, Md.

    Customer Service

    Proactive as described above.

    Strength:

Price can't be beat, especially on shipping. Timely.

    Weakness:

From film to online picture option...not the greatest

I have Clark Photo do my headshots, and they are the best quality I've seen. I have sent off several disposable cameras, as well, and they turn out fine and timely. They send you confirmation email upon receiving your order and when they send it off.
I have taken up the offer of having them upload all my photos from film to their online site, but the quality for the online image isn't as great as if I had scanned them in myself. However, the prints still are fine.

    Customer Service

They're responsive. I had a problem with on of my headshots, and I actually think it's my fault that there was a weird line on the photo, and they took it out for me.

    Strength:

    Low price, convenience, quality.

    Weakness:

Don't scan slides or true b&w film.

I've sent several rolls of film in and have been very pleased with the results. The prints look great and the scanned images on cd look great. I was a little skeptical at first after having read some of the previous reviews, but I figured it's so cheap it's at least worth giving it a try. I first ordered some reprints of photos that I had developed elsewhere so that I'd have something to compare them to, I was very pleased with the quality I got from Clark. I only wish they scanned slides and b&w film. I'm going to try sending in some chromogenic b&w and see if they'll scan that, I agree with a previous reviewer in thinking that they will scan it since it's the same process as regular color negatives.

    Customer Service

Short terse responses to questions you email in, but you do get an answer fairly quickly.

    Weakness:

No Quality control! Does not care about customer satisfaction!

DO NOT use Clark Color Labs, they have no quality control. I tried Clark color labs processing and sent them a disposable camera used at a holiday party. Only 6 of 27 photos were printed, and the returned negatives were cut right thru a seventh image. The rest of the negatives after that cut were not returned. Clark claimed that it was my fault and there were only six pictures on the roll. I happen to know that the few pictures I got back were the last ones taken to finish out the disposable camera. I've had partial rolls printed before, and you get all of the negatives back, even if they are blank. There is a seventh image on the negatives, but it was chopped. Clark lost the rest of my film and didn't even notice it. I requested a refund but Clark responed that I would need to send back what I did get. (Obviously hoping I'd choose to keep the few memories I got back.) Clark Color Labs seems to have no quality control, nor do they care about their customer's satisfaction.

I made a scrapbook using Clark Color Labs. When I placed an order, I never got a confirmation email of them receiving my order. At the time, it didn't really hit me- Then I waited about 2 weeks without thinking much, as it says it takes 5-10 business days for delivery. On the 3rd week of waiting, I finally decided to give them an email. (As they don't have a phone number) I sent few emails, and they responded well, normally within the first day or two. They didn't mention, but appearently the order was never processed. After exchanging emails, they processed the order (I got the confirmation on the same day), and the book was delivered in 2 days. The quality of the book - is half and half. Literally, half of the book was good - good picture quality and true color. But the other half had faint gray ink line/smears (enough to see) all over the pages. Over all, I'm mixed with Clark Color Labs- I'm patient enough that I know things happen and that my order didn't get processed on time. And their service afterward was right on time. And the quality of the book is, as I said, half and half. I'll be taking my chance if I was to order through them again. I'm looking at Mypublisher.com at this time.

Poor Quality Underexposed, bad color Poor Customer Service (non-existent)

I recently decided to try the Photo Holiday Cards from ClarkColor labs. I normally print them myself using a $99 Canon Photo Printer. My Camera is a Digital Rebel (digital SLR) with a top quality lens (EF 17-40 f4L) and flash unit (Canon Speedlite 440EX). The picture (jpg) had perfect color and exposure (I printed several with different settings on the printer) using intermediate photo paper (Canon Photo Plus Glossy). The "standard" no brainer setting was "perfect". Color Labs results took about two weeks for 180 prints that were absolutely terrible. The color had a very dark gray cast and the picture was so dark that the faces (in the picture) were hard to see. We emailed to ask for a "re print" and got a form letter saying that the "error" could be due to a "transmission error" of the jpg and that they wouldn't re-print them. We had the "option" of sending the lot back (at our cost) and they would give us a refund. Convenient since our New Years card wouldn't be "new" anymore. What a SCAM. These were "New Year" cards that we received on Dec 30, and because of the Holiday we didn't get a response until Jan 3 (we emailed immediately). We are extremely disappointed that a so called "professional color lab" couldn't get the color or the exposure right. Even a child could tell that the photo was being printed wrong. Clark blamed it on "transmission error". Either the file was good or not. Transmission errors can't account for exposure and color balance. Clark just didn't want to accept responsibility for poor quality. I was willing to give them a chance to correct their "mistake" but the customer service was so poor that they didn't want to even take any responsibility for their product. This service seems like a rip-off used car dealer, that once the "deal" is done, take your money and disappear. Consumers be warned, vote with your wallet and don't use this company. There are many choices out there with great quality at reasonable prices and with good customer service.
