Customer service is the worst, photo quality is dark and grainy.

Terrible customer service, girl on the phone is the rudest person I have ever encountered on the phone. She did not let me finish a sentence and constantly patronized me and sarcastically said sorry you feel that way without listening to one word of what I said. Obvious she could care less and wanted to prevent me from speaking so she could get off the phone as quick as possible. I took my photos with a sony professional camera and all were grainy and dark out of order and facing different directions. No care in printing or packing them. My camera takes beautiful photos so I know it is not the camera. Stay away from york and their terrible printing and customer service.

    Customer service, website

I received 5 mugs that were personalized with my daughter's photo to give as Christmas gifts to members of my family. I uploaded my photos from a high resolution CD, because they were PROFESSIONAL pictures. I wanted to use those pictures because they are of the absolute best quality. I took a lot of time to create each and every mug and to make them perfect. I ordered the mugs, received the mugs and was very disappointed. The pictures on the mugs were extremely grainy and poor quality. I contacted the customer service department and they told me that I had to return the items to them, and only when they receive them, will they issue me a refund. I am not only out the money that I laid out for these poor quality gifts, but I also have to package these mugs up and go to the post office at this time of year, and shop for 5 family members at the very last minute. I was told by customer service that it was my fault that the pictures are grainy because of the way they were uploaded. I was not supposed to upload the pictures on the project page where the mugs were created, I was supposed to upload the pictures in the regular upload screen and choose high resolution upload. HOW WOULD ANYONE KNOW TO DO THAT????? You want to create a mug, you click on mugs and start creating! They are refusing to do anything for me other than what I stated above. This company is not worth your TIME! They have taken far too much of mine already! Do not use them!

Bad product, bad customer service, blame customers for issues in their production

ordered a mouse pad for Christmas present. When I received it , it was off centered horribly. one email and 4 phone calls later I was told by Donna- that it was my fault because I was off on the red and blue line alignment. So therefore it is the customers fault. She offered a gift card to retry it but if it failed again it would still be my fault. She refused to answer questions about how is their production issues a customers fault. Then she said they were getting thousands of phone calls into customer service- hmm wonder why?

    Strength:

    Beautiful, crisp pictures....at first.

    Weakness:

Second set I ordered were horrible!

The first time I used York, I had 60 free prints, and I was so excited to reccommend them to my friends, because the photos came back so clean and crisp with beautiful color! But then the next time I used them, I had a code for 5 cent prints. Well....I guess you really get what you pay for. They were TERRIBLE! They were faded out, horrible color...I was livid. I understand my iPhone photos coming back grainy, but the ones I took with my Cannon xsi? They were taken outside in good light. There was no excuse for them being so bad! I'm wondering if they do something different (cheaper) when you order the 5 cent prints than when you get your first order because they think they've sucked you in! Not a happy camper!

    Customer Service

Decent customrer service. They offered to refund my money. Very nice.

    Strength:

    Cheap.

    Weakness:

Poor quality, bad customer service, inaccurate digital order mock-ups

I've ordered 4 things through York Photo last month and received them right before Christmas, so turn-around time is about 4 weeks.

My first order were about 50 4x6 prints, which came out blurry and very blotchy looking. I suspected that they were the digital files, so I tried submitting the same order to Target and they came out perfectly. Even with discounts, I'd advise going to any other photo stations to get images printed. There's no point in saving $1 on a set of photos if they end up looking blurry. It took about 3 weeks to receive also.

My second order was a 12 month photo calendar. That was the most disappointing of all my orders. The digital mock-up that was shown prior to my order placement was not an accurate portrayal of the calendar at all. The texts and images that I designed on the calendars were cut through, the squares where the spiral goes around the pages are off-colored and wrinkled--giving a water/burned effect to that part of the calendar. Even when I called into customer service to see if they can help me fix this problem, the service people said I'm not going to get anything better than that. The only thing I was offered was the "opportunity" to edit the item blindly and then get a coupon refund so that I can pay the same price for a second order. Needless to say, I proceeded to tell her how ridiculous that sounds that my request for a refund is to be an "opportunity" to use the coupon a second time and continue ordering from them. Even for a $5 price tag, this calendar was not worth it and my services won't be continued with York Photo because the quality and service I've received through them is probably the worst I've ever experienced at any company. This order took 4 weeks to receive.

My 3rd order through them was for a custom mug. Images printed on it were blurry and of the same quality as the images I received on the 4x6 digital prints. The cup was also chipped on the bottom and had protruding bumps on the sides when I received it. This took 4 weeks to receive.

My 4th order through them was a small fleece that cost me $20. Images were very blurry and the colors were not vibrant at all. It looked faded and even the fleece was irritating to the skin because of all the fibers that stick out. It took 4 weeks to receive.

Overall, I wish that I had checked their reviews online prior to my orders and that I had not ordered so many things at one time. It's really disappointing even with the low price. What's worse is that the customer service representative was so monotoned, sarcastic, and apathetic when I told her about how inaccurate my product was compared to the digital mock-ups. She simply didn't care and after having me wait 5 minutes on the line, she only offered to have me edit and order the product again but this time for full-price and then have me contact customer service again to get a partial refund for the coupon discount. Essentially, she was telling me to order the same product a second time. After that, I was done with dealing with York Photo--I hope whoever reads this can hear this word of caution and not have to go through the trouble of dealing with their poor products and bad service.

    Strength:

    Crisp, clear photos.

    Weakness:

Horrible quality product, not worth the price even at 50% off.

I got this blanket the last time York Photo had the deal. I uploaded some images from our trip to Disneyland last July. The quality was to bad that if I had paid the regular $40 price I would have been livid. As it was I was not happy that I had spent $20 on it. The images look great but they took the thinnest, cheapest scrap of "fleece" they could find and ran it through a printer. I say scrap because that's what it is. The edges are not sewn, just cut fabric. Nothing on the "blanket" is sewn at all. Unless you're going to just hang this thing on a wall, I'd pass if I were you.

Would not recommend to use this company. I ordered 163 pictured and over a week later I received one! It was like a joke. I called them and they had to answer to where are the rest of my pix. It did say Total 163 photos on the envelope. They did refund the money. But the time was wasted.
    NEVER EVER use this company!

Washed out yellowy colors. Probably printer was low in ink and as nobody checks the result, it was sent out.

Purchased a fleece blanket from York Photo online. .. would NOT recommend this company. It was shipped out on the 8th (per the website) and did not receive until the 21st late. And the quality was awful. It was as thin as a sheet. Yes, I only paid half price, at 25.00, but would have been disguisted if I would have paid the full price. I do not recommend doing business with this company. I also ordered prints with them and they shipped the same day, and have yet to see them.
