Delkins Image Router Press Release

Delkin’s Image Router Saves Time and Money

Poway, CA. Aug 27, 2008 – Delkin Devices, Inc. has received the American Photographer Editor’s Choice Award for Accessory of the Year 2008 for ImageRouter, the company’s innovative new reader for professional photographers.  The award follows months of widespread industry praise for ImageRouter, which immediately won a DIMA Award upon introduction at PMA 2008.  ImageRouter, a four-slot, USB 2.0 CompactFlash card reader with a built-in powered hub, allows users to simultaneously transfer data from four CF cards to a computer, and automates the file management process – saving users time and money in post production.  Since shipping began in May, ImageRouter has quickly become the must-have work flow tool for wedding and event photographers

“It is great to get so much positive feedback from industry professionals and photographers alike”, said Kathleen Finlayson, Delkin’s New Product Specialist.  With its built-in hub, four UDMA enabled card slots, ability to be daisy-chained and included software, ImageRouter completely re-defines the image transfer process.  “By allowing photographers to walk away from their desks during data transfer, ImageRouter saves both time and money,” Finlayson continued.  “That’s the key benefit for any professional.”

ImageRouter enables users to simultaneously download four CompactFlash cards – at UDMA speeds.  Even with four UDMA enabled CF cards inserted, users will see transfer rates of 29 MB/sec read and 27 MB/sec write through USB 2.0.  The built-in powered hub allows “daisy-chaining” of two units.  Photographers with more than four cards simply plug the ImageRouters together and transfer up to eight cards at a time.

With the BackupandBurn software included in the ImageRouter Kits, multiple wedding photographers shooting a single wedding or event can quickly and easily synchronize photos after an event.  BackupandBurn automatically renames files based on user-set parameters.  Users can specify how the files are re-named and re-numbered and even have JPEG and RAW files automatically sent to different folders.  Images can also be copied to multiple locations and automatically burned to a CD or DVD.  Security features like Image Verification ensure the burn was completed properly.

“The industry acclaim for ImageRouter underscores Delkin’s commitment to the photographic community,” said Martin Wood, Delkin’s CEO.  “We work to make photographers’ work easier, more efficient and more enjoyable with all of our products – our products make photography better for photographers.”
