EOS Elan IIE Body
Strength:
The camera gives the casual photographer a lot of choices. The autofocus with the eye finder is also a good selection
Weakness:
The camera has a tendency to turn off. I sometimes have to place pressure on the battery cover. A good camera with a number of features that allows all levels of photogrphers a chance to take pictures. The ability to use the eye finder is good, and all the automatic features also are positives. EOS Elan IIE Body
Strength:
A lot of convenient and useful features in a very lightweight package (especially compared to the cameras I've lugged around in the past!). The auto focus and exposure has proven to be very accurate and the "Eye Control" feature has been handy in many situations.
Weakness:
Has "glitched" a couple times - locked up for no apparent reason. A good choice novice and serious photographers. Not built for heavy daily use by "professionals", but plenty sturdy for just about everyone else. Canon AF lenses are wonderful - quick, silent focusing and as always, very sharp. I think the Elan II is a great camera. I have had mine for about 1 yr and have no complaints at all. Have been sole protographer at 2 weddings and everything as worked great. I really like it. Works best with 380 ex flash .
Weakness:
only slight problem is slight difficulty in handling bright backlight, but if you catch it when taking the picture can be taken care of easily. Not quite as good as N90S handling difficult lighting, but I can certainely live with it. world run a close 2nd to n90s. Customer Service not needed so far Similar Products Used: also have a N70 and N90S |

Great Camera !! Very easy to use and has a reasonably solid feel to it. Especially love the thumb dial, gives very easy control over both shutter speed and aperture in manual mode.
Weakness:
The technical manual could be more detailed. Highly recommended for anyone interested in serious photography. Similar Products Used: None |

I love this camera, because it can do almost anything!!! And while all it's features can get confusing, that can be avoided by using full auto or full manual until you get the hang of all the great features.
Weakness:
You have to exaggerate eye movements for eye control autofocus... but it's worth it. A great camera for ANYONE! Similar Products Used: None |

Camera FEELS great in my hands; features; value for the money. I LOVE the Eye Control feature!
Weakness:
None whatsoever This is absolutely one of the BEST cameras I've ever used. The Eye Control feature is fun and easy to use, although it takes a little patience learning the correct way to use the feature! It has every feature you could ever want/need in a camera. I'm hooked. My spouse wants one exactly like it for Christmas, so I guess we're both hooked! Customer Service great - emailed them with a question and they responded the same day. EOS Elan II E QD Body
Strength:
Does everything it is supposed to do well. Main controls all easy to get to and use.
Weakness:
In hot weather, camera slows after a couple hours and then quits (with new battery). Camera body could be smaller. Flash button to pop up flash doesn't always work. Owned A-1 for twenty years without any problems. Excellent value. Eye focus is a very nifty feature, but not really necessary. Large camera but handles well. I do wonder about its longevity, however, considering the hot weather problems I have with it within the first year. Customer Service Not used yet. Similar Products Used: All other main brands. |
