Strength:

-Small size
-Weather proof
-should have been the lens

Weakness:

-the flash exposure
-exposition not good enought for slides use

I bought this p&S because of the lens that was estimated as very good. But still after several rolls of slides I haven't found it so special. The results are far away from those got from my Eos+L lenses. I don't really understand way. The first rolls where made with ASTIA film but I notices that often the frame was not completely in focus. The center was OK but there was something wrong in the sides. After having read in these reviews that this camera tries to keep the maximum opening in the diaphram, I tought that this could have been my problem so my last roll was a Provia 400F. Results are still bad, colours, definition and general glow are very lower than those got from the 28-70L.

Another big problem is flash exposition: fill in flash always washes out faces. I have to remember to switch it off everytime.

It is really a big shame!

Strength:

Unbelievable value for money. For the outstanding quality provided by the lens, it is a triumph in lens element design.

Weakness:

Because it is P&S, not much freedom for creative techniques. It is really meant to be for Candid Photography.

This has got to be the most amazing camera that has come out of any brand name manufacturer for a long, long time. The epitome of a real Point and Shoot camera. Olympus should stay with this design and keep it for years to come, because the next generation of photographers should be able to appreciate this wonderful gadget. It is much like the Volkswagen Beetle, universal in scope and utility. It is like the paper clip, the concept and design should not be changed.

Strength:

lens in low light conditions
very small

Weakness:

red eyes everytime, and red eye reduction first doesn't always work, then breaks a spontaneous photo...

well, lens is really great for color and contrast but i'm sick of that red eye problem...i bought it for all unexpected situations and sometime a flas is needed....well,you have vampires everywhere....
good spotmeter ,if you learn it it gives exposure and even creative control....
for how much it costs,is to buy.4 stars due to red eye problem

While the things I listed above in the "strengths" portion are all good. I have to say that the main reason I bought this camera though is the fact that it is so small that people don't notice it like an SLR or the M6 (I know this camera is known for stealth, however it's size and the chrome version are eye catchers). This and the cameras portability (which means that it's always with me), are the best things about it.

Strength:

Everything! The lense is fairly fast and sharp. It is incredibly compact, and easy to use. I was pleasantly suprised by the prints after using P/s cameras that cost far more. Oh, and I went in the surf-hey it still works perfectly.

Weakness:

Nope!

A great little camera at a very attractive price. It takes sharp, well exposed photos in any weather and fits in my pocket.

Strength:

1. excellent lens: fast (f/2.8), and sharp
2. excellent shutter range (6 sec to 1/1000)
3. very compact and weatherproof
4. Spotmeter works very well

Weakness:

1. Noisy

2 years after buying it, I continue to be amazed at how the engineers at Olympus have packed so much good stuff into a camera of this size! I always carry it around, and I have found no flaws except for the noise.

Strength:

Small size enables me to take this camera anywhere. Works great with Reala. The first time I got my prints back from this camera, I was blown away. The price can't be beat. Spotmeter ability is handy. Wide range of shutter speeds: 4 secs. to 1/1000 make it even more versatile.

Weakness:

With the flash being so close to the lens it is easy to get red-eye if you don't take some steps to avoid it.

Excellent camera for the price. With the wide range of shutter speeds and the spotmeter it is possible to create some great pictures. Lack of exposure control doesn't bother me because its purpose is to poin and shoot. If I needed exposure control I would use my SLR.

Weakness:

No infinity lock - makes shots through glass sometimes a problem.

A great camera - good value, compact size and superb lens.
