We’re featuring a very special photo in this batch of Featured Member Photos. Paul Maskens, a.k.a. “SmartWombat,” has been with us pretty much since the beginning (PhotographyREVIEW.com was launched in 1999). He usually photographs motorsports but for the past few months he’s been shooting a new, more personal subject. His wife Angie recently had a stroke and he’s been giving updates on her treatment and recovery on our forums and Facebook. That inspired him to start taking pictures of people holding hands in hospital. The photos are very moving and intimate. Click on the photo below to see more of Paul’s “Helping Hands” photos in the Photo Critique forum.
We’ve also got Featured Photos from the Photo Gallery, Nature & Wildlife Forum and the Sports Photography Forum. The basketball photo below is by dhyravy. Click on the image to learn some of the tricks he uses to get a great indoor action photo. The flying stork is by DennisT, an excellent wildlife photographer who lives in South Africa. The final image, a beautiful sunset, is by one of our most prolific contributors, armando_m, from Mexico.
Do you think you’ve got what it takes to be a featured photographer? If you do, then share your photos in the gallery, on the Sports Photography Forum, the Photo Critique Forum or the Nature & Wildlife Photography Forum. Every week our forum and gallery mods choose a photo to feature for their section of the site. If you post photos in the gallery or those forums, one of your photos could be featured next week. Check out our Featured Photo Archive to browse past featured photos.
