National Geographic Traveler & Photo District News Great Outdoors Photo ContestNational Geographic Traveler (NGT) and Photo District News (PDN) have announced The Great Outdoors Photo Contest. It encourages photographers to celebrate the world outside through the categories of “Parks and Safaris”, “Plants, Animals, Insects and Gardens”, “Beaches, Islands and Underwater”, “Scenes of the Natural World”, and “Outdoors Sports and Activities”.

The Great Outdoors Photography Contest runs from March 1, 2010 to May 10, 2010. Entries received between March 1, 2010 and April 26, 2010 require the normal entry fee. There is an extended deadline of May 10, 2010 for an additional fee of $10 per entry.

The Amatuer Contest (NGT) has a $12 per entry fee and prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: 7 night gourmet inclusive resort stay for 2 people at El Dorado Royale spa resort and a $250 certificate from Canson Media.
  • Category Winners: Each category winner will receive $100 B&H gift card, Gold Pass – PDN Photoplus International Conference + Expo, Canson fine art paper, and $100 certificate from Canson Media.

The Professional Contest (PDN) has $35 per entry fee and prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: St. Kitts Marriott Resort 7-night land stay for 2 people with spa, $250 certificate from Canson Media, and an RS DR-1 double strap from Black Rapid.
  • Category Winners: Each category winner will receive $100 B&H gift card, Gold Pass – PDN Photoplus International Conference + Expo, Canson fine art paper, $100 certificate from Canson Media, and an RS-7 strap from Black Rapid.
