Adobe Lightroom 3.5 And ACR 6.5 Release Candidate UpdatesAdobe has new “Release Candidate” versions of Lightroom and Camera Raw available. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.5 and Camera Raw 6.5 Release Candidates add support for new cameras and lenses, including new Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds cameras, the new Sony NEX and Alpha SLT-A35 cameras and Phase One digital backs. New lens profiles have also been added for over 20 Canon, Sigma, Hasselblad, Nikon and Tamron lenses. There’s also a long list of Lightroom bug fixes.

Both the Lightroom and Camera Raw Release Candidate updates are available now. Adobe defines a “Release Candidate” as an update that is, “is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers.” Translation: the Lightroom and Camera Raw updates should work fine but they aren’t 100% complete and you download and install at your own risk. For what it’s worth, I’m going to download and install the Lightroom 3.5 update because I am anxious to start editing my Olympus E-P3 Pen RAW files in Lightroom.
