Adobe Lightroom 4.2 and Camera Raw 7.2 Release Candidates AvailableAdobe has announced new “release candidate” updates for their Lightroom and Camera Raw programs. The updates add support for new cameras and lenses, including the Canon EOS M and T4i / 650D, the Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR, Nikon 1 J2, Panasonic G5 and LX7, the Pentax K-30 and the Sony RX100. Some problems have also been fixed, including the lack of tethered support in Lightroom for the Nikon D4 and D800. The “release candidate” status means the updates are “prerelease software… designed for evaluation purposes only” and “would benefit from additional community testing before [being] distributed automatically to all of our customers.” In other words, they’re far enough along in the development process that Adobe feels confident releasing them on a limited basis. And generally, there are no major issues with Adobe’s release candidate software updates.
