Pentax Optio P80 Digital Camera Pentax has updated their super-compact Optio P-Series and user-friendly Optio E-Series digital camera lines. The Optio P80 has the same 12.1-megapixel resolution as the P70 with a slightly wider 4x zoom lens, better 720p video capture, improved face detection and refined Auto-Tracking AF to help keep moving subjects in focus. The 10-megapixel Optio E80 is all about easy accessibility.

Pentax Optio P80 Digital Camera
The P80 is housed in the same tiny, pocket-sized package as its predecessor, the P70. The most notable update to the Pentax Optio P80 is the movie mode, which can now capture 720p HD video at 30 frames-per-second, whereas the P70 could only manage 15 frames-per-second. The P80′s lens is negligibly shorter than the P70′s at 27.5-110mm, vs. 28-112mm. The Face Detection AF & AE system has been updated so that it can better detect faces from different angles. The Auto-Tracking AF system is more responsive than the P70′s, so it should track moving subjects more accurately. The P80 comes in three colors – Black, Pearl, and Mint. Like the P70, it features Smile Detection, Shake Reduction (SR) technology and the Pentax Auto Picture mode, which automatically chooses the best of eight scene modes.
