It’s not a long or detailed review, but Dave Perkes’ write-up on the Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS zoom lens hits all the important points and shows that he’s a careful shopper. His review also gives us a chance to spotlight an excellent telephoto zoom lens that could be flying under a lot of photographers’ radar. Although it doesn’t have an f/2.8 aperture, the Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS makes up for it by being significantly smaller and lighter as well as $100 less expensive than the non-IS 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. And if you compare to Canon’s two image-stabilized f/2.8 70-200mm lenses, the weight and size differences increase and the price nearly doubles.
If you own the Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS or one of Canon’s other 70-200mm zoom lenses, please share your experience by writing a review. Other photographers depend on your camera and lens reviews when they buy new gear. Make sure they get all the information they need by writing your own review.
