Panasonic announced two new digital cameras today. Both cameras, members of Panasonic’s compact Lumix FS-Series, will sell for less than $200. The FS line of digital cameras is designed to be easy to use and less expensive than Panasonic’s more sophisticated FX pocket cameras. The 10.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS7 and the 12.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15 both feature Intelligent Auto Mode (iA), which includes AF tracking, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Face Detection. The FS7 has a 4x f/2.8 Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT zoom lens and the FS15 has a 29mm wide-angle 5x Leica DC VARIO-ELMAR zoom lens. Both cameras feature Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S. optical image stabilization the new Venus IV image processor.
Both new Panasonic Lumix FS digital cameras will be available this coming March. The suggested retail price for the DMC-FS7 is $159.95 and the DMC-FS15 will be $199.95.
