Sony announced the new Party-shot camera dock. The Party-shot automatically takes photos for you, pans 360 degrees, tilts 24 degrees, automatically detects faces and adjusts composition. It will capture more natural expressions and fun, candid moments of you, your family and friends. The Party-shot uses the camera’s BIONZ image processor with its Face Detection and Smile Shutter features to snap photos without needing to press the shutter button.
The Party-shot is compatible with the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 and DSC-TX1 digital cameras. It will be available in September 2009 for $150.

But is it beer-proof? I’d better check the specs…
That’s pretty cool. I wonder if there are any potential mischievous uses for it…

It needs some sort of lock down… with my shady shifty group of friends, I don’t know if I’d still see it after the party.
I’m thinking you put it under one of those transparent cake holders they have at diners. That way people can spill beer and puke on it all night long without killing your camera. And if the party is at Thien’s house, you could punch a couple of holes in the cake thing and padlock it
Wow. I’m curious to see some samples from testing this.
Can the video out be connected to a jumbotron?
