Sony Alpha A900

Sony Alpha A900

The 24-megapixel A900 is Sony’s flagship full-frame sensor digital SLR. It’s designed for professional commercial photographers, landscape photographers and anyone else who wants lots of resolution and good low light image quality. Proof it’s intended for professional use, the A900 has a burly weather-sealed metal body and 1/250th second flash sync. Unfortunately, the A900 is getting a little long in the tooth. It was introduced in 2008 and it’s no longer a top competitor – it doesn’t even have live view, a standard DSLR feature now. But at reasonable sensitivity settings (ISO 800 and lower), you’re not going to find another digital SLR that can outperform it. And if you’re already a Sony or Konica Minolta camera owner and you want the very best there is for your lenses, then the Alpha A900 is the clear choice.

    Nice guide John

Thanks, Greg. It got kind of out of hand. I didn’t intend the inro to be so long but I thought the Sony system needed more introduction than Nikon and Canon, since Sony is a relative newcomer to the camera business and some of their technology is probably mysterious to the average camera shopper.
