Excellent ! this is what I voted for, and exactly for the same reasons, it shows the most innovation from any of the other systems.

interesting, no comments from anyone else ?

Obviously, I agree with you, Armando :-)

You have the NEX-5N, right? Have you considered upgrading to the NEX-7 or is the 5N enough for you?

Yes, I have the nex-5n, Would I like to upgrade ?
    yes, I think so
    why ?
mainly due to the ergonomics of the nex-5n, changing setting can be complicated, also autofocus can be slow and inaccurate, seems the nex7 resolves the settings by having dedicated controls for aperture and speed, also seems autofocus is better

    Why wouldn’t I upgrade?
economic reasons plain and simple =8-)

    I have the X100 and Nex-7.
I prevues owned Oly E-P2, but the picture quality can not match X100 and specially not the NEX-7

The features are creeping ahead of Nikon and Canon. The weight is certaly welcome. But the body “feel” is too small for use with full lens, those with large hands, or for those using the camera over the course of a day. Sony should consider making and marketing the camera at the same price in 2 sizes — small and semi-pro.

Not sure that a camera should be awarded “camera of the year” when you haven’t even had a chance to review it properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

    Jason-
Thanks for the comment. You’re criticism is fair and understandable. I’m pretty comfortable with my decision, though. It’s based more on how innovative the camera is then hands-on experience. However, I did also check the reviews of people who have had the camera and I didn’t find anything out there to change my mind.

    Robert C –
I have large hands and the size isn’t a problem for me at all. But then again, I like smaller and lighter cameras for backcountry skiing and mountain biking. In a way, Sony does have the two sizes you’ve asked for. If you feel the NEX-7 is too small, the SLT-A77 is larger and has the same sensor and EVF.
